Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Haven't tried that yet. Also not sure if it'll happen again if I plug the USB hub back in. For now I left it unplugged as my wife is driving it and didn't want her to have to deal with the issues. Will do some testing and report back.

Just had an issue where the rear camera, gps and music stopped working. Rear camera was black, gps location not updating (showed the location at my home the whole day) and the trying to bring up the music menu just resulted in a spinning wheel icon. Tried rebooting car, multiple times, both soft...
Took delivery a few days ago of a SR+. No 14-50 adapter included. Couldn't buy one at the delivery center so they recommended going to one of the sales centers to buy one although they thought they might be sold out so I may need to order one online. Tried calling local sales center to see if...
Just for clarification, can someone confirm that ELDA cannot be permanently disabled in 16.3 (I know it can't in 16.2)?
On 12.1.2 right now and it's asking to update. Will not perform the update if ELDA can't be permanently disabled.
How does one receive this? Is this something that is supposed to get added to your account online that you can view?
We also have delivery scheduled for May 25th, have received VIN and did get a call to schedule delivery for the 25th. However, they said that it was still tentative pending the...
Yes, ordered may 2, have VIN and a delivery date of may 25. Was initially may 21 online but they called and set it for may 25. The said this was tentative though based on the ev rebate being topped up. Expecting another call to confirm.
Thanks!
Another update, VIN has now disappeared from the online page but the delivery date has been updated to what I was told on the phone. Not sure what to make of that...
Another data point, ordered May 2nd, got VIN 3 days ago, just got a call from Tesla with a tentative delivery date of May 25th. They said they are aware of the BC rebate being currently unavailable and will reschedule the delivery if the funds have not been topped up yet by May 25th.
Just to add one more datapoint, in Vancouver, ordered SR+ black exterior, white interior on May 2nd. Have a VIN as of 3 days ago and a computer generated delivery date of May 21st (which I'm told to just ignore and wait for a call instead). Hoping/expecting that call to be pretty soon.
Mine still says May 21st but we were in the Tesla store the other day and asked about that and as others have said, they told us to just ignore that. It's just a computer generated date and doesn't really reflect reality (wonder why they even bother putting it there) and that someone will call...
Thanks, I have a VIN but haven't been called for a delivery date yet. Will just wait until I have a delivery date and get insurance to start then. Not paying for insurance in advance if I don't have to.
Hmm, I thought you needed your ownership in order to go get insurance from ICBC so how can you do this in advance? Also, they don't do it on site like many other dealerships?
I'm confused about this. Under my account, it asks you to upload a copy of my current insurance. Are they referring to the insurance of my current vehicle? Why would they need/want that? Should I be getting insurance for the Tesla in advance of my delivery appointment?
No $1000 reservation, just ordered online. Referral screen is there now (don't think it was before), I don't see any mention of any contract or payment due date etc. This is what the screen looks like:
Just happened to check the Tesla site this morning and now have a delivery appointment scheduled for May 21st (ordered May 2). Didn't get any emails, text messages or calls though? Also don't see a VIN anywhere? Where would that be? The app says "no products assigned to your account" when I try...
We were just at a Tesla store in Vancouver today asking about what inventory cars they had. They said they had about a hundred of them that all went immediately as soon as the federal rebate was announced and only had a couple still available. They also said they had heard the BC $5k rebate is...
Still slightly confused about what you can get away with and still qualify. It seems like the most expensive car that will still qualify is the SR+ with no options ($53,700). Is that correct? We really wanted to get the white paint option (extra $2,000) but it sounds like that would push it over...
I would also like a cream or even tan interior. Like the sense of roominess that lighter interior gives you but there is no way we would be able to keep the white clean.
At least a year old so I imagine things have gotten better now. That same report also said autopilot/EAP wasn't really worth it in this area due to the large amount of rain we get and the cameras not working well in the rain. Not sure if that has gotten better too?
Interesting, we live in Squamish, so drive the sea to sky all the time. Don't have our model 3 yet but had read that the autopilot didnt handle the sea to sky very well due to it being such a twisty road. Mostly comments about it coming into corners with too much speed. You didnt experience that?
We're ready to buy a Model 3 and were going to go for the SR (not plus), software limited version, probably this weekend. Would you hold out waiting to see what happens with this rebate and if Tesla would lower the MSRP to get just under this $45k? I also remember reading something about not...
Maybe not likely to happen in the first 100k miles but you still have axle wear items like wheel bearings, CV joints, tie rods and ball joints that will need replacement at some point. Also, brake calipers aren't any different from a regular car and will need servicing/replacing eventually. They...
I feel like it breaks down like this. You are basically paying to beta test/develop autonomous driving for Tesla. I think that fact is hard to argue. I think there are two ways to proceed with this:
1. Autonomous driving systems like Teslas are left to Tesla developers and select beta testers...
Wondered about this too. Conventional wisdom has always been that RWD cars aren't great in snow but my understanding is that is because traditional cars have most of the weight up front due to the engine and little weight in the rear thus poor traction. I imagine with something like a Tesla and...
