Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
My M3P has over 125,000 miles on it since 2019. Mostly from traveling around mountain biking, going up north Michigan, a handful of trips from MI to Florida, out to DC to bike with friends on the C&O trail, and day to day carting of kids to school. So obviously a lot of those miles going to be...
There is an antenna for FM which seems ok but not great for range. It sounds like you might just be on the fringe for the signal.
If you switch your audio over to phone you can listen via your phones Bluetooth connection and sounds app.
Just click on the music note and then scroll up so you can...
It is not normal and the button should work to open the charge port.
One thing to try to fix it is "reboot" your mobile connector. In other words, unplug the mobile connector from the wall so it powers down and plug it back in.
Then try again. Hopefully that helps.
My SC (at first) thought that it was pebbles in my wheels creating the noise. After I took a ride with the technician he understood that it was something else. That became obvious because of the consistency of the noise when making certain maneuvers.
My M3 was built in winter 2019.
I wanted to chime in today and say the clicking is still gone for me now since the fix I mentioned above. I have put over 1k miles since then.
It is the "cut through" the snow effect which makes skinny tires better in the snow (in most cases). There is more of the vehicles weight per square inch on the contact patch.
I agree with WilliamG switching from 20s to 18s is not going to make that difference alone. A combination of other factors might make that big a change such as changes with wheel width, tire compound, or outside factors such as temperature.
Some other thoughts are:
The weight of your wheels...
I have updated Dolemite's thread (link below) regarding this issue with some exciting info. Basically changing bearings on my car fixed the issue. I had the exact same type of click you can hear in Dolemite's video.
Clicking sound while turning - gearing up for my 5th SC visit
Thanks to...
***FIX FOUND****
My Clicking Noise is finally GONE!
I went to the SC yesterday for another attempt to fix the ticking noise. I also wanted them to take off my winter tires and put back on my 20s. They took care of both!
Keep in mind on a previous visit they had changed the front right axle...
It's fine to let it trickle away down to 70 or even lower.
I recommend setting it 50 percent charge for storage. If you look at the data the battery takes less damage at 50% then it does at higher charges.
Still, you might find some lithium ion batteries guides suggesting storing batteries...
I did not yet view the video... sorry I will. Still I have some input.
First, Tesla has built their cars with cameras not lidar. They have to and will stand behind that decision and their current product (no matter what).
Next, it is arguable as to which technology is better for FSD. Mostly...
It is possible that more configuration options become available closer to the release date.
If suspension does degrade prematurely it would be covered under warranty.
Most people in the Detroit area run winter tires from mid November to late March. Remember winter tires are great in the wet and slush so it it makes sense to keep them on a bit later into the warmer wet spring; typically until late March or even early April when the temp might be up over 40...
I've been to the Oxon Hill, MD 20745 Supercharger and I do not recommend it.
That's the last/only supercharger on the Delmarva Peninsula (the big area to the East void of superchargers).
There you have to pay for parking while you charge. I went up to the desk to verify, no refund on parking.
Yes I experienced the same thing. Thinking of making a service call for it also. I have not tried troubleshooting steps yet. Such as turning off immersive sound to see if it still happens. I have however noticed that it happens with more that one type of audio source.
For Texas weather the P3D+ is perfect.
If spirited driving matters more, which includes more than just straight line acceleration...P3D+.
Also, there may be regret if you went with the stealth when you can afford the +.
However, if saving the money matters more, especially if you live in a...
Rivian has some exciting products but realistically they will be working with and bound by the same third party road side assistance (or similar) providers that Tesla is using. Except on thing, Tesla has a 10 year head start in the game.
OP the 120v will not be enough to drive 100 miles day after day. If having a 240v at home is not an option. Your other options would be supercharging or check plugshare to see if there are any destination Chargers that could make sense for you in your daily routine.
I am more concerned with battery health than range. So I display the SOC percent.
Basically, my focus is on battery charge state and how it applies to my daily habits. Trying to keep my charge near 50% most of the time.
Sometimes when I travel I flip it over to remaining miles... it's easy...
Even though I still do run with my stock frunk mat...you didn't miss out on much. I'm sure anything else would probably be better.
Still I understand your pain. Just realize that its a great car. They are getting them out to buyers as fast as they can. And your Frunk mat does not matter much.
Plug in using the 240 every night if you can. A plugged in Tesla is a happy Tesla. Then systems can use wall power instead of flexing on your battery during the Plugged In Time.
For battery health having your battery spend most of its existence charged at or near 50% is best.
So, if you use...
Damn I knew you were going to say that about teslawaze! I agree, since its slower to update it's somewhat of a liability. Still for a new app to compete it should have the weather overlay, windspeed and elevation.
This might help...
I find that if I create a station for a certain artist/band and then never thumbs up a song Slacker actually plays more variety. As if the AI is still trying to learn about what the station should be like.
If you do thumbs up songs, Slacker focuses on repeating those songs...
My Tesla is out of service mode now. So now i can see I have the 2019.32.2.1 update pending.
There is no evidence they changed any computer hardware so I apologize for getting excited.
The fact that I got 2 software upgrade notices in a row made me think that maybe I had new hardware...
I'm certain it happened. That last bit is speed comes in slow so I had a good nervous 8-10 seconds watching the numbers slowly (relative to Tesla) climb past 145.
Now that I do have my spoiler another P3D+ owner w/o the spoiler will have to test.
That could also be it but I wanted to mention and almost made another post about it last month but ....
I have had my P3D+ at 155mph and 148 the day before that. That happened about month ago. I got the spoiler on Monday.
