    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Anyone with a module installed 2021.36.5? Ingenext is being especially slow updating their safe list this time around. Boost SR here.

Auto wipers activating when sun shining directly on windshield

I have had a very few instances (I'm guessing less than 5 times in over 2 years of driving) where the auto wipers get activated for seemingly no reason. Usually swipe once or twice and then stop. I'm sure it is related to your issue, where light hitting the camera housing in just the right way...

Tesla: Please fix the stinky AC - here's how with an OTA update

I had the smell, cleaned with Kool It cleaner and replaced filters (with OEM), and the smell is back this summer. Usually I can smell it for the first 10 - 15 seconds of running the AC and then it dissipates so not a huge deal but still annoying. I don't really understand the apologists who...

    Will it buff out?

I just had a rear end collision on my SR+. Only rear bumper was damaged though. Replaced bumper cover, crash bar, fascia piece underneath, and 1 ultrasonic sensor. Total $2K in damage. Was out of my car only 13 days. I was expecting longer based on what I had heard about lead time on replacement...

Relearning how to drive an ICE car

My 3 was rear ended recently (just needed replacement bumper and crash bar) and I had a rental Chevy Malibu for about 2 weeks. Worst thing: No regenerative braking. The feeling of lifting off the accelerator and just hurtling forward like a big dumb boulder is the worst feeling after driving a...

Traffic Visualization - Other Vehicles In Color

@greentheonly on twitter proved that this is a thing they can do and probably will implement in the future (was looking for the tweet to link but can't find it). It is a good question how they will differentiate red colored Tesla's from cars you are about to lane change into though. Maybe making...

    Traffic display of passing cars

This is normal behavior. The display of cars on the visualization of the screen never perfectly matches reality nor is it completely "smooth" as cars transition past you. Hopefully this improves with newer software versions. Just be happy you didn't experience the very long period of time where...

    What's next for model 3?

I would bet money that in the same way that developments on the 3 made their way to the new version of the S (hidden vents, landscape screen, etc) the stalkless round wheel with the touch sensitive buttons and shifting on the screen will make its way to the next refresh iteration of the 3 & Y as...

Anyone else try Dark Satin Gray chrome delete.

I've always liked the look of the body color matched door handles but as someone else mentioned it's hard to get an exact paint match with wraps. Where / how did you have this done? Also how much $, if you don't mind sharing that.

    Yoke steering confirmed variable-ratio

Agreed--I wouldn't be surprised if they relent and allow standard wheel as an option... still stalk-less of course.
  13. T

    Yoke steering confirmed variable-ratio

I'm sure there are decent cost savings associated with not having the stalks. Also, the stalks are a point of potential mechanical failure that is now replaced by a simple non moving button that is unlikely to fail for the life of the vehicle. I don't know about the S, but I know many 3's had...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

As discussed in this thread, it's a little bit of a pain in the butt to install but not that bad. You will feel the difference in acceleration--it's noticeable. If I have any regrets, it's only the knowledge floating in the back of my mind that if Tesla wanted to, they could potentially do the...

    Car alarm

The only time I've had my alarm set off is by a car with an extremely loud exhaust rolling past inside of an otherwise quiet parking garage. Does this cafe commonly have cars/motorcycles with very loud exhausts?

MyQ Smart Garage Door opener with EVE

I have a Chamberlain MyQ door. I find the app functionality very helpful, especially for letting people into your garage when you are not home or being able to confirm that nagging question at the back of your mind "did I close the garage door when I left?" via the app. As for the Model 3, I...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

It's supposed to be etched on that square silver plate. It was hard for me to get it into focus so the characters were legible. But I didn't take the wheel off, just jammed my arm over the top of the wheel and took pictures at random angles with the flash on till I got a good one. Hard to tell...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

For what it's worth, got a run in today with the SR Boost at about 80% SoC with Scan My Tesla. Not sure how close it is to something like a Dragy. I felt little blips of losing traction which I don't normally remember feeling before unless the road surface was really bad.

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

Yes, I forgot to mention that. I have a little plastic spudger tool that I was using to remove the push pins on the panel that also came in handy for pushing the release on the clip to remove the cable from the MCU. Unfortunately the space is just too tight and full of other cables to make using...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

I installed my SR boost a few days ago. Yes, the plug is quite hard to get into place. I scraped up the top side of my wrist against the plastic trim trying to get it in there. It's difficult not only because of the tight space but because the orientation of where you need to put your hand means...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

I had been waiting for Tesla to release a paid performance boost for SR+ but it seemed like it would never happen. I just saw recently that Ingenext released a performance boosting module for SR/SR+ that have the 980 rear motor. Mine is a April '19 build, so I'm pretty sure I have it but need to...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

So to self report on this. I did get the tires and have driven on them 600+ miles so they should be broken in at this point: Grip and handling are much improved. Now that I have better tires, I am really feeling the limitations of the stock suspension when pushing it around corners. Lifetime...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I'm getting BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 in about 10 days for my SR+ because they were on sale at Costco. I wanted to get Michelins based on the recommendations here but they seem to be perpetually out of stock and I'm reaching unsafe levels of tread left on my rears on the stock MXM4's at...

New TeslaOffer SR+ Speaker Activation Wiring

I installed this about a week ago to my April 2019 build SR+. Echoing what some other posters have said, it's definitely noticeable and worth the money/effort. Actually plugging the cable in in was easy. Replacing all the panels is the real challenge. I strongly recommend getting a plastic...

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

    Auto Pilot Is Dangerous

Glad that OP finally got some action of out of Tesla but the "trial and error" parts replacement scheme is almost as disturbing as the original problem. You think they would be able to pretty quickly rule out certain parts, like they would be able to run some sort of diagnostic on all cameras...

    Volume Slider is limited

I've noticed the same thing. It actually seems to be faster now to tap on either end of the slider than it is to slide you finger to change the volume. If I had to guess, this is to prevent a passenger from accidentally swiping to the right or tapping in the far right range and "instantly"...

V10 Best UI feature, rendered useless within seconds.

The only good use case for this feature is to repeatedly "pinch to zoom out" until the car visualization is only a few pixels wide, and then say to yourself out loud "What is this? A visualization for ants? It needs to be at least... three times bigger." Then you let the visualization reset and...

Did you know - If you struggle to close the centre console it will tell you how..

Yes, I think this is a more accurate way of putting it. One single switch that both activates the light and drives the cute "error" message.
  38. T

Did you know - If you struggle to close the centre console it will tell you how..

There is no extra sensor just for this feature. It is detecting the interior console light being turned on and off. You can test this by finding the travel point at which the light turns on and then "wiggling" the door repeatedly until the "close door softly" message appears on the UI.

    Model 3: Turn Signals... ARGH!

What's your top feature request that could be accomplished via software update?

Am I being too flippant or beating a dead horse by wishing for the following? Rear camera activating instantly when I put it in reverse instead of displaying black for a few seconds. This has gotten better over time but still not totally fixed. Cars not "dancing" on AP visualization

    Recent Chrome-Delete

I actually really like this "color matched chrome delete". Stands out from the typical satin/gloss black wraps. One criticism though, since you are color matching in effect making the trim and door handles "invisible" with the color of the paint, why not fully debadge the front and rear logo...

Tesla To Charge $1k For Black Paint

I wouldn't be surprised if the "black as default color" was always purely an Elon-defined edict to be a Model T homage even though as you stated it doesn't make sense from a swirl/defect standpoint.

Android 8.0/9.0 compatibility with phone as a key?

Don't have any experience with Oneplus but compared to the Pixel 1 it seems fine. I haven't noticed the supposedly slower SoC and the battery life is much improved vs. the aged 3 year old battery in the Pixel 1. Camera is great of course, superior to the Pixel 1. Personally I'm enjoying having a...

Android 8.0/9.0 compatibility with phone as a key?

My anecdotal experience: I had a Google Pixel 1 XL, and it worked maybe 75% of the time. Usually the fails were occasionally having to try the door two or three times in a row before it finally woke up and unlocked. Occasionally having to fish the phone out of my pocket, swipe down and hit...

    Whats up with the wipers?

My anecdotal experience from this morning with my first drive with a light mist was that the auto wipers seemed to work just fine, maybe adjusting the increment speed a little higher than I might under manual circumstance (2019.12.1.2). At freeway speed, I didn't notice any abnormal noise and...

Why do cars stay farther back behind my Tesla?

I really wish it was easier to tell if your brake lights are activating or not. The car avatar at freeway speed is very small. Anecdotally, I have noticed that when I do my normal practice of getting in the second from left lane and engaging autopilot in traffic, that I have way more people...
