    Official: Model S Service Plans

It's a warranty for damage to both wheels and tires. Granted, most damage will be cosmetic scrapes. But I've had a total of 3 flat tires over the past 3 years due to pothole damage and nails/screws, none of which were patchable. Assuming they are replacing my OE Michelin PS2s (21" wheels) like...

Tesla Shop:All-Weather Model S Trunk Set

I'm in the same boat as you but I decided to buy the complete set because I think I will want the full trunk liner eventually anyway. Thanks for posting.

Another set of aftermarket wheels: BBS

Thanks for the tip patp - - - Updated - - - These ended up, after getting the Tesla TPMS, slightly more expensive than Tesla's 19" wheels with tires. The inner portion of the spokes is "anthracite" - or light grey. Should hide brake dust better than the stockers.

Another set of aftermarket wheels: BBS

Got these installed today. Not quite as eye catching as the 21's, but I plan on running these most of the year for the ride comfort, cheaper tires, and improved wheel protection. I could do without the BBS center cap and maybe I'll try and find something else. BBS CF in machined finish...

The Model S vs. ..... AKA the Model S performance thread

"Full titanium akrapovic exhaust, stoptech trophy st60 bbk, kw cs coilovers, ess vt2-625 blower" So nice! I had the akrapovic on mine too - awesome exhaust. But you've gone way beyond that, I see ;)

The Model S vs. ..... AKA the Model S performance thread

I don't miss M drive. You can wag the tail of the Model S from a stop at will, which is plenty entertaining. Changing the steering settings etc is easy and traction control can be partially disabled on the S, which is similar to M mode on the M3. I haven't compared test specifications for the...

The Model S vs. ..... AKA the Model S performance thread

A few other general observations. The Model S's high speed braking is very good. The car feels very stable and the brakes are powerful. But you do notice the weight. It also has accurate and nicely weighted steering but the steering feel is pretty inert and there isn't that much feedback - the...

The Model S vs. ..... AKA the Model S performance thread

Has someone already started one of these? If so, my apologies. I'm interested in hearing more of people's real world stories of encounters with other cars. Shame on me, sure, for wanting stories possibly/likely involving potentially illegal activities. What can I say, I'm a car nut with a need...

Last "Early December Delivery" to be delivered?

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing every time I called/emailed them. I haven't figured out a new excuse other than I'm excited like everyone else.

Delivery at store or service center?

Kendallpb - the Tesla rep I spoke to said the same thing: that they will contact me for payment in full after the car is off the production line but before it is shipped. I wasn't all that comfortable with that, but the rep tried to reassure me that they would take care of me if the car was...

Delivery at store or service center?

I agree with the mid-A observation. I'm in DC and got a call from a CA pre-delivery person in response to filling in the online form - that person specifically said that they could only get the car to me in the early delivery time frame (12/15/ - 12/31) if I accepted home delivery. If I wanted...

    Model S December Production email

Needless to say, the more of us responding yes, the less likely this will materialize. Given where they are at in production and today's date, it seems very unlikely the majority of us who have been contacted will actually see a car this month. Having said that, I already sold my daily driver...

    Get Amped Tour: Washington D.C., 7/13 - 7/15

It is a compelling alternative. Ultimately, for me, if I did not have another "regular" car to enjoy, I would probably take the M3 (or some future hybrid performance car). I get too much satisfaction from shifting gears and the sound of, e.g., a naturally aspirated v8 revving past 8,000 rpm to...

    Get Amped Tour: Washington D.C., 7/13 - 7/15

Not 100% sure what your question is. A new M3 prices out to be comparable to a 65kWh Model S. The 65 would be noticeable slower than the performance model I drove. What I would prefer depends on a lot of things. In my case, I have another car that is my fun/weekend/track car. The M3 can serve...

    Get Amped Tour: Washington D.C., 7/13 - 7/15

I went out for a drive this morning. Drove the white performance model. Very sweet. Fit and finish were better than I expected. Acceleration was impressive although at higher speeds less so due to lack of engine/exhaust noise. Definitely felt faster off the line than my M3. The route was ok - I...
