help, older breaker box can't accommodate another 240-volt breaker,

I already have an auxiliary panel (installed be a licensed electrician) and sufficient service to the main panel. Knowing this, the "Tesla approved" installer told me he couldn't use the existing sub panel, and quoted me over $2,000 PLUS the installation of a second sub panel next to the main...

Confusion on keeping the charge limit at 100% and charge fully once per week

I used to think that after nearly 45 years of working with computer technology in every field from design to sales, support, implementation, training and management, that I have a pretty good understanding of how things work. Then I got a Tesla and discovered that it a whole new world when you...

    Navigation routes

You're right!! ABRP offers both options. It also has different charge points. That actually contributes to a bit of my range anxiety. I really don't want to have to use 2 separate apps and decide which route is better. That's a "me" issue, I guess. Although I'm willing to bet it's not what the...

    Navigation routes

I was planning a trip to my son's house in a very small Wyoming town. Normally, it's about a 5.5 hour drive without charging stops. There are primarily 2 ways to get there from here. One gets me off the interstate earlier (at a scheduled charge point) and is a little shorter. It involves a lot...

    Newbie, and still learning

First, my navigator says thank you! This is precisely what I was hoping to see! Understanding what I’m seeing in these graphs/charts makes me SO much more comfortable than just seeing a range or energy level. Now I’m going to go out, sit in the car, and learn to see what you describe in #3...

The mobile charger I bought with the car has an adapter for a standard wall plug for 10-12 amp charging. It would probably work OK for me, but I put in a 50 amp circuit for charging that uses the 14-50 adapter that also came with the charger. I was told that basically made it a level 2. Wrong?

I don’t understand why native nav has so little flexibility. I get this! ABRP seems better in this regard, but they don’t return the same information often. Plus, I don’t really want to use my phone AND navigation. I like using ABRP to compare routing and range, but how do I determine...

    Newbie, and still learning

To qualify myself, I’ve had my M3LR for 3 months now. Although I have “planned” several trips, I have made no trips outside of the local area. I am retired, and honestly don’t drive all that much. My drives are typically shorter distance, primarily on surface streets, and I’ve never had to...

Parts got missing after servicing at Tesla service center

I read about this type of response to issues more frequently than I would have expected. The least they should do is listen to the issue and investigate just a bit before denying that it’s there problem. I had a similar experience with a giant scratch on my front bumper at delivery. They said I...

    Cold weather problems

Does anybody know exactly what caused all of the dead Teslas in Chicago a week or 2 ago. it seems unlikely that so many people were caught unaware when temperatures dropped so much, and that doesn't account for the impossibly long lines/waits at the charging stations.

    TACC random slowing down

I’ve had this issue on an interstate. I was on TACC at 75 mph (without steering assist) in the right lane, with no cars around me. When I passed an off ramp, the car slowed fairly abruptly and was at 65 when I caught it and hit the accelerator. At the very next off ramp, it did the same thing...

Can I charge My Tesla at the supercharger every time to 100% or not?

If it were me, I’d charge it to 90%. Since you'll be using a Supercharger all the time, the rest of the stuff doesn’t matter (unless you’re just interested and wanna know). You’ll get whatever charging speed the Tesla Supercharger has available and you’ll pick up the rest of the details you...

Mobile Connector vs. Wall Charger - Renting a House

Me, too. I was just quoted nearly $2000 for the 50 amp circuit ($18 per foot), using a Tesla approved installer). That doesn’t include the wall charger. However, I just took a 45 mile drive, and it projected 13+ hours to re-charge using my standard 120v circuit. Is mine just slow?

    208 volt 20 amp

Yes, it’s a single family. Installed to run my table saw. I was told that the car would see the 208, and draw too much amperage for the 20amp circuit. How does it know how much to draw?

    208 volt 20 amp

I may need to change the plug/receptacle. It really is 208 single phase. I had it installed years ago to run a table saw. I had no idea what I needed. I just told the electrician what I wanted to plug in.
