Thinking about a used 2022 Model Y, a few questions

Not all ‘22 model Y’s have the Ryzen processor or the lithium 16v battery. My first Tesla was an early model 22 Y and it shipped with neither. Those features were rolled out during the model year, so you’ll need to check the cars to confirm they have them.

Anyone use the OEM front license plate holder?

Mine fell off my Model Y 6 months after I purchased it. It was a hot summer day and it was hanging when I came out to my driveway. It was installed in winter though, so maybe adhesion wasn’t as good as it could have been if it were above 15 degrees.

    Buffeting/Booming issue survey

I had a 2022 MYLR. Never experienced any booming noises when I hit bumps while driving (did hear them while parked, which I attributed to the heat pump). Sold the car with 22,000 miles on it. Got a new 2023 in December of 2022. The booming noises from the first day I picked it up were...

Cold Feet: Reassurance or Reality - Tesla MYLR as a Road Warrior Vehicle?

I’m outside sales, so I end up stopping at a few offices. Typically 210 miles round trip. Wednesday was 250. I preemptively charged because I had time between appointments and I got 10000 miles of free charging that I’m struggling to use. I may have been fine without it. But it’s summer. I...

Cold Feet: Reassurance or Reality - Tesla MYLR as a Road Warrior Vehicle?

I’ll also add, we have a cabin in Danbury (NW Wisconsin). It’s a 375 mile drive door to door. In the dead of winter it’s a 3 supercharger trip - start at 100% at cabin and preheat (which at -30F will drop you to 95% plugged in to a 50 A charger) we’re at 20% driving the speed limit wheel we get...

Cold Feet: Reassurance or Reality - Tesla MYLR as a Road Warrior Vehicle?

I live a bit north of Milwaukee (North Shore area in Milwaukee county) and make twice weekly trips to Madison and or Middleton area. In the dead of winter you will need to use a super charger for that trip for 10-15 minutes if you’re preconditioned. I drive between 2000 - 3000 miles per month...

    Quick financing question...

Just make sure to unlock your credit first if you locked it for any reason. My wife and I both had ours locked (and forgot) and multiple Tesla banks declined us with no explanation (which shocked me, because our credit scores are north of 800). Finally US Bank called and told us to unlock our...

    A mouse ate my Tesla

We’ve got neighbors at our family cabin in N. WI that are full time residents or seasonal residents. One has a model y, the other has a 4 runner. Both have had issues with mice eating their wiring - their cars are exclusively parked outside. The 4 runner owner runs a coil of galvanized sheet...

Modely Y LR7 vs Performance and general "Is this is a good idea?" Help :-)

Welcome to Wisconsin! What part of the state are you in? I live north of Milwaukee and am on my second model Y. I drive about 2000 miles per month, mainly to Madison and back for work. I have not had issues with the snow, but I don’t use the stock 19” tires. The performance comes with Michelin...

    Model 3 - 95k miles , 4 years , switch to Model Y?

Not from me. I just had 2 people in my car yesterday that would press the door button and wait for it to open. They also couldn’t get them to shut on most occasions. They seemed to think the doors would auto close/open.

    Model 3 - 95k miles , 4 years , switch to Model Y?

“The doors do not auto-close” Thank you - for a moment I was wondering if my new ‘23 Y was missing something.

Tesla almost left me stranded - again.

Where’s your cabin? Ours is in Danbury, and you are correct, it is a charging desert. I haven’t been stranded, but I have been VERY concerned on a drive that started at -30F on New Year’s Day in 2022.

Will you go to the Telsa store tomorrow after the price drop

If you think you’re going to sue you had better opt out of your binding arbitration agreement within the required timeframe.

Do tires last longer on 19" wheels than on 20" wheels?

Tire cost is “lower” on the 19” wheels (I know - technically falls under the “cost” part of your post). I’ve only had 19” wheels on my Y’s - so I can’t give a first hand account comparing the two. Reports are that the 19’s have a more compliant ride. There are also some reports of the larger...

Anyone here order during Tesla's deal and actually received by 12/31/22?

I think you’re dead on the money. I’d ordered on 2/22/2022. I declined 2 deliveries and my reservation was scheduled to be canceled. The incentive was published in the Wall St Journal. I texted Tesla asking if they’d take my order of hold. Within an hour I received a message saying I was off...
