FSD/AP is per profile. Create a new profile with FSD turned off and switch profile on the go. It sucks that getting out of FSD also disables TACC and hopefully this was an oversight and will be fixed but for now, that's an option.

I suggest still using car wash mode. In that mode, the windows raises up a bit more to make sure they seal correctly.

I whish though the wipers would delay start instead of as soon as you push the scroll wheel. This would allow me to move it from Auto to slow intermittent without having them going berserk as soon as I push the scroll wheel.

Well, I've never been in a situation where the rain was so strong that I couldn't see the vehicle in front of me (unlike fog). If someone wants to tailgate, lights are not going to deter them. Beside, in heavy snow and fog, headlights make the matter worse by illuminating the snow/fog in front...

Never had a car that did that and it's not required in Canada. We already have running daylight, which beats lights on only while raining.

You still should keep fire and vandalism for that exact reason. It's usually very cheap.

I always put the car in carwash mode before washing the car and the charge port door remains closed when touched until I deactivate the carwash mode or I open in from the App or touchscreen. That mode also raises the windows to their full extent so no water ingress and put the air conditioning...
