The car has to be asleep for 2+ hours in order to take stable voltage readings that can update the BMS.

The car can correct 1mv of imbalance per 24 hours. That's 24 hours where the car is asleep with HV battery disconnected

So... it takes Tesla 2 hours to do it, figure you can do it in 3-4. Still quite a good return on the money if you're comfortable working on the car.

The one time use bracket is easily purchased from Tesla for < $10 each.
