Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That's good to know, thanks. It seems they do offer a SIPP, so I will look into them. Do you know whether they would allow you to vote on shares held in a SIPP specifically? (some other providers I've looked at only offer a SIPP through third parties, which would make voting difficult).

I agree that as individuals the votes on our shares probably won't make a difference, but if there are enough of us (maybe hundreds of thousands of individuals with millions of shares between them?) then who knows. It's also the principal. If we cannot vote on matters that make a difference to...

As HL don't provide a voting service for US shares, I've just been looking at the possibility moving my HL SIPP and ISA accounts to Freetrade ( both 100% TSLA). The only problem for me is that with the SIPP they say: At present, Freetrade only offers a form of withdrawal called an...

Agree. But lately it seems that a significant percentage of the posts I see are constant replies to the new posters and trolls (who I already have on ignore once it becomes apparent that their primary agenda is to sow discontent and they are clearly not willing to learn or listen to...

Yes, extremely important that everyone who is able to vote takes the time to do so. Don't just take it for granted that this will automatically be a 'Yes' vote (there are many with a vested interest that would jump at the chance to thwart Elon and Tesla). I am in the same situation and it's...

There was a good video about this on the Fully Charged Show recently. Good to see someone fighting the FUD: Who's TRYING To KILL The ELECTRIC CAR? And What Can You Do About It?

Haha, maybe.... By the looks on these faces, I think TSLAQ might be disappointed!

I noticed this too. And in the context of other manufacturers, you can see how the sales have jumped over the last couple of weeks: One of these is not like the others.... Edited to add source: eu-evs.com As you say, this is only for the countries that report daily registrations (Spain...

The economics of Megapacks will depend on the electricity market where the projects are located and will obviously vary by country/region. The Hornsdale Power Reserve in South East Australia (known as the 'Tesla Big Battery') was able to re-coup the cost of construction in a little over 2...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As a percentage of the overall auto market, Tesla was only at around 2% market share in 2022 (1.31 million out of a total of 66.1 million) and I think they are well positioned to grow during a recession. Legacy OEMs are more likely to slow their EV growth plans during a recession, cutting back...

They reason by analogy and not from first principles.... No other company has scaled up manufacturing of a large complex product at a CAGR of over 50% for a decade, so they don't believe Tesla can do it. No other company has sold anywhere near 20 million cars a year, so they don't believe...

I don't have a margin account. But living in the UK I'm unsure whether my shares can be 'lent' out for shorting. As I understand it, my broker (Hargreaves Lansdown) doesn't hold the shares directly as they are based outside the US and so the shares are packaged in a CDI (CREST Depositary...

Thanks, I missed that it was referring to Model Y only. Unfortunately it's too late to edit my post now (seems you only get 60 minutes to do that).

I think there's something wrong with this. I'm currently seeing just over 1k in US inventory (still low of course). Source: Total US Inventory

I think that's partly due to unwinding the wave (normally ships don't arrive until the 2nd and 3rd months of the quarter) and also more cars are being produced in Berlin now. For the EU countries that report daily registrations you can clearly see the difference when comparing to previous...
