Minor fender bender - No Fault - Initial Estimate $6500 - Go through insurance?

@Sophias_dad ....are you saying that the 25% uplift in premium will only be applied to 1 of my 5 cars? I am of the understanding that it will be a 25% increase across the entire policy.

Minor fender bender - No Fault - Initial Estimate $6500 - Go through insurance?

It was my agent.. They said to expect a 20%-30% increase for the next 3 years. I get it...but I can't just pop off a min $6500 in light of that. Perhaps I'll shop for new insurance in a couple years (of course bringing this claim along with me).

Minor fender bender - No Fault - Initial Estimate $6500 - Go through insurance?

This was a minor scrape, no driver was issued the ticket..but the bumper and (charger-side) quarter panel are damaged. Initial estimate was $6500 (i have a $500 ded). Would you advise that one go through insurance? I was informed that submitting the claim might raise rates by 25%-30%...

How’s my strategy for pushing order to 2022

Looks like the Build Back Better bill is dead. Manchin gave it a hard "NO". So best to take delivery of that Tesla before you have to get in the back of the line and/or take a higher price tag on that EV.

White Interior worth $2k or not?

i think the implication is that it is a net increase of $1K...but changing the vehicle would then capture the recent vehicle price increase of $1K...for a total increase of $2k

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Typically, these SA's provide no value to the transaction and I think that Tesla sales operations is figuring that out. In fact, I was told that Tesla is going to be shuttering some of their high-end retail locations in favor or just having the service centers. In turn, I would imagine that...

    Charger Location

In all fairness, one option, that I don't see on your diagram..and what I did... was have a NEMA 15-40 outlet installed on the crossbeam in the exact center of my garage CEILING, about a foot behind the garage door opener motor. I plan on mounting a J-hook or somthing and rolling the cable up...

    Charger Location

I'm in the midst of doing this same thing...and based upon your garage diagram, I would go with #2. Why? You are going to have to install a NEMA port or Wall Charger, right?...so Lets say you install it 2 feet away from the electrical box...and park your car, near option #1. You now have...

    Charger Location: New Telsa Owner

This is actually what I have ended up doing. I'm going to permanently mount the mobile charger, as many say they don't even keep it in their car, unless they are going on a long trip. If I find that I need it more often than not, maybe I'll be an extra to keep in my car.

HPWC Requires at least a 60amp circuit???

So the ultimate answer from the electrician, when pressed, was that if the device was capable of being configured to work on a 60amp circuit, that he had to install it on a 60amp circuit. The worry being that somebody would install it on say...a 50amp circuit...and then configure it to try and...

    Charger Location: New Telsa Owner

I hear you...I'm pretty tall myself at 6'2"...but the ceiling is 10'....and i might put the cable on a retractable leash that can pull it up into the 8-10ft area.....so above my head...but not above my reach, i suppose.

    Charger Location: New Telsa Owner

That looks quite nice... I really dont see the drawbacks you are referring to. Yes, you have a lot of stuff up on that beam behind your garage door opener...but then you also don't have a cable laying across a walkway that people could potentially trip over..you know?

    Charger Location: New Telsa Owner

Thanks...yeah...that other thread was actually started by me :) Anyway, yeah, i see those things as potential downsides, but so long as I can string it forward out of the way...it seems like a good option.

HPWC Requires at least a 60amp circuit???

I guess that was my question.. so it seems like you don't require 60amp.....You can install on 50amp...and just get the lesser kW. He is telling me that he is not allowed by whatever authority to install this device on any circuit less than 60amp.

HPWC Requires at least a 60amp circuit???

My electrician is telling me that the installation of a HPWC requires a 60amp circuit. I was laboring under the belief that it could be installed on 50amp, but just wouldn't provide the level of charge that it was capable of. He indicates that it is against standards/code or whatever to...
