This has started happening to me in the last few weeks. Totally reliable before then. Now I'm worried about getting locked out when I go for a bike ride and don't take my card key.
This is completely standard outside the US: Model 3 Owner's Manual | Tesla
I think it may even part of EU vehicle standards and Tesla was forced to offer a tow package in the EU.
I finally got my NFC tags yesterday. They are only detected within about half an inch of the notch at the top of the phone. So not much point putting the sticker on the magsafe mount itself
I'm using an iPhone 13 mini.... BUT my NFC stickers haven't even arrived from Amazon yet. You perhaps meant to ask @dene30, who originally mentioned the idea?

I was thinking of putting one on my M3P but got worried about the corrosion issue (since I lease the car) and went for a seasucker instead. Both great options...
Also be sure to check out the articles on galvanic corrosion of Tesla bodywork caused by after-market hitches. The photos are a bit disturbing!

Another link to a service manual showing an OBD connector on a Model 3 in the driver footwell. (this one says APAC only, but that may predate 2020)

...if it exists!
[I'm looking into this because I'm thinking of buying a HUDWAY Drive Tesla version, and don't want to have to run wires to the 12V accessory socket!]
