Does anyone know if Tesla will replace a peeling yoke with a steering wheel if requested? My yoke is peeling and I honestly think I’d prefer the traditional steering wheel.

Is it still the case that only the RWD Model Y coming out of Texas has the structural battery pack? I'm thinking of purchasing a new Model Y soon and was not sure what I would get with the LR Model Y.

Thanks for the help! And good to hear because my yoke started peeling in multiple spots recently. So I wanted to get it replaced regardless.

I have been hesitant to swap over to the steering wheel retrofit from Tesla. But my wife really dislikes driving it with the yoke. So I decided it was time to order the retrofit. Alas I can’t find it on the shop Tesla website anymore. Has it been discontinued? Or am I just looking in the wrong spot?

I’m actually at the Turning Stone now for an event and I saw the signs for delivery, which prompted me to do a little research because I went up to the parking garage roof where deliveries are supposed to take place and there were no Tesla people at all. I snagged a few pics of the delivery area.

Yeah that’s crazy. I didn’t realize this was a widespread issue. Good to know I’m not alone. Though it’s irritating such a simple feature doesn’t work on this very expensive vehicle.

Out of curiosity where are the sensors on the FWDs? I have kind of the opposite issue from the OP where my passenger FWD shows something is close when there is absolutely nothing in its way and always halts opening.

I'm having the same issue in my refreshed X 7 seat. There is so much rattling coming from my second row. It sounds like it is the seats and not the issue of the FWD release latch though. Have not put in a service ticket yet. Still trying to pinpoint what the noise is. But it is so annoying!
