    Strategy on Long Drive

Lot's of good advise here. However the recommendation to shoot for close to 10% arrival charge is too low from my experience. Partly because of the way I drive and where I drive. On Hwy 5 the average speed is 85 mph. So that significantly cuts into your battery. I've had 3 instances where...

Car Won't Charge After Updating to 2020.28.2

I updated this afternoon. I have scheduled charging which is supposed to start at midnight. Around 12:30pm I get a notification on my phone that my Tesla has stopped charging. I go outside to check and the green light at the connector is flashing (indicating charging), but the screen says 0mi/hr...

You're suddenly well off, your lifelong friends are not. Now what?

A different example. I'm not part of this friend group, but here is what one wealthy person did with his friends. He got a motorcycle and wanted someone to ride with. So he bought 5 additional motorcycles for his friends so they could ride with him. His only stipulation was they could never...

You're suddenly well off, your lifelong friends are not. Now what?

I'm one of the friends who has been left behind by my friends so here's my $0.02 I have been a tight group of 8 couples for 30 years. We all live and work in Silicon Valley and 4 of the 8 have gotten lucky with stock options and their company going public and are worth a lot more than me. Of...

Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control (BETA) for those that have HW3 and FSD

I had initially had the speed limit limitation but several updates ago it got rid of that requirement and now allows me to set the speed limit much higher than the speed limit. On residential it allows 5 mph over speed limit. On the expressway that travel everyday and have to go through 12...

Left door pillar camera blocked or blinded

It may just be this time of year. In North America the sun is much closer to the horizon overall than it is during the summer. So the low angle might be triggering it more. Or it could be a bug. :)

Updated iPhone X to iOS 13 now doesn’t work as key [Update: go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth]

I don’t understand what this has to do with the topic of this thread.

How are people applying enough force in NOA steering?

It is 12 oz not 12 grams. Mine works 100% of the time with 12 oz, my friends works 80% of the time with 12 oz. So might need a little more in some cases.

Autopilot through highway 17 to Santa Cruz!

I’ve tried it 6 or 7 times but never made it all the way without having to intervene at least once.

How are people applying enough force in NOA steering?

Those are very similar to the weights I use in my 3D printed box. The box just makes it easier to remove if I ever want to (which so far I haven't).

How are people applying enough force in NOA steering?

The issue with a sock on the wheel is that if you do have to make a turn the sock weight is going to be swinging around wildly and is very dangerous. I have heard of people using a 3d printed box found on Thingiverse that is a safer alternative. ;)

Telsa AP and the basic speed law

I use the accelerator quite often when on AP. For both the scenarios you mentioned and also occasionally because I have a fast moving car approaching me from behind and I want to get in front of the car next to me to move over. It works fine to use the pedal to exceed the set speed with AP...

    CA HOV decal front bumper

Whenever I see a single sticker like that I always assume that the stickers have been shared between multiple cars.

You have the choice to just not use them at all. I don't understand doing it half-assed. Either do all or none.

That's how mine are attached. Very low, hard to see if standing next to the car.
