    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Now finally on v12 (2024.14.8) - downloaded and installed this morning. Will take it for a drive later on to test the new visuals, regen / acceleration bar, matrix headlights, speed camera warning chime etc.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

My recently acquired 2024 RWD Y is still on version 11.1 (2024.8.9) and says it's still current up until today.

    Charging Adaptors 101

Yep I only work from the office 2-3 days a week, so when I wake up (usually 30mins before I leave), I manually turn on the climate settings. I would assume that this also preheats the battery? If it could select specific days (rather than just weekdays), I might use scheduled departure...

    Charging Adaptors 101

Thanks, I did consider using this option too as opposed to scheduled charging. However, I WFH 50% of the time and it's easier for me to just keep the current setting of scheduled charging as I don't go to the office everyday (there only seems to be the option to set it for weekdays or weekends...

    Charging Adaptors 101

I now have the 32A dedicated circuit installed w/ a 40A circuit breaker. Using a 32A tail with the Tesla UMC, it pumps out around 50km/hr of range @ 32A. Have it on scheduled charging from 1am (conservatively timed to avoid possible charging @ the regular tariff) to take advantage of AGLs...

Another $5000 price drop. Model Y entry point now $58,251

I took delivery of my RWD Y (2024 / HW3 / Inventory stock) on Tuesday 21/05 and I got a text message plus email that morning stating that my order was eligible for the updated pricing. I then received 2-3 further emails with an updated breakdown of pricing. I immediately emailed and asked how...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Picking up my Y tomorrow - I've checked the VIN and it now has a registration number - woohoo! Armed with a list of things to check - will go through the car tomorrow before driving out.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Thankyou :) I know - I would have thought "inventory" stock would have a faster turnaround. It makes me wonder though - how many cars are actually being sold / delivered to demand such a long wait time for a car that's already built / onshore?

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Fast forward to today, settlement of the Y should be tomorrow and pick-up / delivery is next week! Got my Tesla UMC w/ 32A adapter tail and getting an electrician to install a new 32A circuit w/ 5-pin 32A socket in the garage. Looking forward to it.

    Charging Adaptors 101

The 32A tail I bought is 40cm long, but I won't yet buy a mount for the UMC until it's actually installed, just in case it ends up like yours pictured. I will however just get a hook to loosely coil the cable.

It was just an example photo. The actual 32A tail unit which I will buy and connect to the UMC is the below: 5 Pin | 32 Amp | Single Phase | Tesla Adapter for Tesla Gen 2 UMC Univ It should look like the below:

    Charging Adaptors 101

So I bit the bullet and opted for the 32A circuit with 32A outlet. Just over $1k installed. I'll just now have to buy a 32A tail for the Tesla UMC - so it'll be something like this : 32A tail > Tesla UMC Am I correct in assuming that it'll be up to 7kW / up to 40-50km/hr of range? This...

    Charging Adaptors 101

This is from the US though, ideally I'd rather buy locally just in case there's any issues etc. Not only that but the transit time from the US as well. There's a 50kW DC charger a 7min drive from my house. and is $0.40/kWh so not too bad. Honestly that's what I thought too - if I was driving...

    Charging Adaptors 101

So I've just had a conversation with an electrician regarding a 32A circuit - they're suggesting / pushing to go with a 32A circuit with corresponding 32A 5-pin outlet. When asked, it seems that they're not too keen on installing a regular 15A outlet on a 32A circuit. My concern is that I've...

    AGL’s “Night Saver Energy Plan”

Thanks, that's great to know - I'll keep an eye on the account balance daily once the service moves over to AGL next month. (Hopefully) once the credit is applied, I'll changeover to the EV plan. I haven't changed over a plan so soon after it starts / the monthly billing cycle starts - isn't...
