Well, I'll share my install as I could not find any other install of the Hopkins Insight brake controller on the Model Y. I 3D printed a hinge so when Im not pulling I can hide away the little display. The actual controller box is behind the carpet that sits against the center console

Of course, I'm thinking about something similar to that setup. I'll probably put in my RV a percon 1500 power station that has two solar inputs, one of them limited to 10A, and I would wire one to the car with a switch to allow charging when needed off the plug in the trunk

I mean the aux power pin on the 7 pin connector, which is not connected on recent MYs

I opened a service case to ask and there's still no solution yet for the aux power pin

newer cars dont supply power to the 7pin so these adapters may not turn on

I was thinking on wiring a line from the trunks "12v" into the trailer aux pin with a fuse

I found one of those large power center with LFP batteries included an has a DC charging pin limited to 8A, an additional DC input for solar for the future, plus AC input when on shore. Seems the easiest solution I also opened a service case to know if Tesla has a solution and they said not yet

So, I'm getting myself in the camper world and I want to be able to charge my popup's battery with the car. Not having the trailer wired with a DC regulator is making me go around things more than I like, but I'm a tinker.... I think I'm going to wire a DC regulator to the trunk's lighter plug...

Hey there, is this heatsink module the supposed new DC/DC converter? Do you have power on pin 4 (aux power) of the 7 pin connector?
