Power trunk retrofit causing car awake

Sorry to hear that it didn't fix the issue with the retrofit but thank you for testing it and reporting back. Saves me (and others) from bothering to reconnect the wire harness to try it myself.

    Charging Error Alerts

I disconnected the power trunk retrofit's CANBUS wiring harness as documented in this thread https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/power-trunk-retrofit-causing-car-awake.322759 My PCS_a022 errors and, more importantly, the increased battery drain has disappeared completely. I've gone from...

Power trunk retrofit causing car awake

I can't disagree with that sentiment at all. As excited as I was to get the "official" power trunk retrofit installed last fall, I've now come to really regret spending the money on it.

Excellent. Good to have that datapoint.

Power trunk retrofit causing car awake

Man I am so glad I found this thread. I've been having the exact same issues with my 2020 LR with the power trunk retrofit kit installed. Tesla has replaced the front left sensor (twice) and even the car's main computer once in an attempt to resolve the HVAC system not working reliably...

    Charging Error Alerts

I had my Tesla Service appointment and the tech informed me that there is currently an investigation linking the power drain and vehicle not properly entering sleep mode with vehicles that have the Tesla Power Trunk retrofit kit installed (which mine does). He then offered to "disconnect a...

    Charging Error Alerts

Tesla Service's message to me this morning about the excessive drain was a bit maddening: So in other words, mask the problem rather than fix it.

    Charging Error Alerts

I am also noticing a large battery drain when the vehicle should be in standby. I opened another service request a few weeks ago and the techs had me go through the process of resetting my account password and access token and said to give it a week or so to see if the situation improved. It did...

    Phantom Battery Drain - 6% a day

    So sorry to hear that.

Need to replace my all season and snow tires , what are folks using in Canada?

I can't recommend any all-season tires as I'm still running the original tires that came with my 2020 M3LR (currently at 19660 kms). For my winter wheels, I went with the Nokian Hakkapelitta's from Kal Tire on the OEM rims. I've been very happy with them although I'm told they have a bit more...

    Phantom Battery Drain - 6% a day

I realise that this is an older thread (and is about the MX) but I'm having pretty much the exact same problem with my M3LR. I've disabled Sentry mode completely, turned off cabin overheat protection, removed the app widget from my phone's screen and don't launch the app unless I have to and I'm...

    Charging Error Alerts

Per my post above, Tesla service informed me that the alerts are a known issue and can be safely ignored unless you are actually having issues charging.

    Charging Error Alerts

After a bit of back and forth with my local service guys (via the mobile app), I have been told the same thing as reported by others and my service appointment was canceled. Their exact message was: As someone who tests software for a living, I found the replacement of "bug" with "known...

    Charging Error Alerts

I get the error messages being logged in the notifications tab almost continuously but in my case the error code is PCS_a022 rather than PCS_a023. In my case, the vehicle is not plugged in and also charges properly when I connect it to either a Supercharger or a Level 2 charger. I've requested a...

Power Trunk Retrofit on Model 3s now Available Direct from Tesla [09.14.2023 - 2018 model 3 not eligible]

My retrofit appointment last Saturday went reasonably smoothly but definitely took much longer than the 4 hours that the service centre quoted me when they denied my request for a loaner. Ended up taking 8 hours but since I'd had benefit of the feedback from those of you who posted here, I...
