Blog Will We Own Cars in Fifteen Years and How Will Enthusiasts Survive This?

Great quote! I personally agree with you. Unfortunately 98% of America doesn't see it the way we do. :(

Blog Will We Own Cars in Fifteen Years and How Will Enthusiasts Survive This?

You're absolutely right that The Mobility Cloud (The Mobility Cloud | Bergerson Design) isn't a solution to every situation, but if you've ever ridden in a taxi or Uber/Lyft/etc at any point in your life then you are a candidate to use The Mobility Cloud when it arrives. You're right that if you...

Blog Will We Own Cars in Fifteen Years and How Will Enthusiasts Survive This?

You're right, the usage is massively skewed toward fixed times. The airline industry has the exact same problem with holiday travel. Everyone wants to travel at Thanksgiving and Christmas but the supply of jumbo jets is fixed in the short term. That's why Christmas and Thanksgiving travel is...

I recommend getting into the home remodel business because all those garages are going to turn into home theaters and gyms!

Hello, my name is Eric Bergerson and I’m an industrial designer with an additional background in physics. I work as a consultant in the autonomous vehicle industry and I’m very interested in what’s going to happen when Uber, Lyft and their competitors in America and abroad start using cost...

How important is design of a modern car?

KD, you're asking the right question. The truth is that all mainstream conventional combustion cars offer basically the same thing when analyzed in terms of reducing the offering to its basic utility. They all have effectively infinite range with no unreasonable refill times. The differentiators...

    go lightweight and different!

Red Sage, interesting that you say that. The Lit Motors C-1 is designed to do something very different than what full width cars do. It's designed to be able to split lanes like a motorcycle on a crowded urban freeway, thereby passing all the gridlocked traffic, without having to be on a...

    940hp roadster hyper car

You are correct, Pr0teu5. - - - Updated - - - onceday, before you fall too much in love with that stratosphericically high hp number, be aware that subjectively performance cars benefit from having a rear biased torque split. I'm not saying it improves lap times, but if you've driven a wide...

How important is design of a modern car?

Could not agree with you more TI Sailor. When the 6th gen Sonata came out in 2009 it made all the Camrys and Accords in the world just disappear. It was a little cheaper, just as well built and looked a million times better than the competition.

    Tesla Sailboat

BerTX, you are correct in your comments, but I would offer another perspective. Lots of multihull owners buy for stability, square footage per hull length and shallow draft rather than speed per se, (although they don't mind the speed) and I bet those owners would gladly trade an 8% speed...
