My main problem is screen glue leak. If the MCU2 replaces the screen then I'd rather spend $1750 and get the latest mcu.

Did they replace the screen or the screen was ok and there was no need to replace the screen ?

should I insist that i just need mcu2 and not the screen via the app and then talk to the tech when they come to my place to do the actual work ?

Quote for the line item for the price $1750 does NOT say "with replacement touchscreen". Just says "infotainment upgrade for pre-ap, ap1 or ap3.0 vehicles(1582613-00-A).

now I'm thoroughly confused :( The chat feature on the app seems useless as they are saying the screen is separate from the mcu2. Is there a hidden tesla email or support phone I can confirm with?

looking at the parts catalog and it seems the screen and mcu2 are indeed separate parts.

Should I just approve the MCU2 upgrade and remove the screen entry and hope the screen is replaced as well ?

Here is my uneducated guess. The touch screen is leaking glue. The MCU2 is just a computer with a screen and its not touch. The touch screen is what makes the computer respond to touch and if my touch screen was not leaking they just use the existing touch screen and connect it to the new mcu2...

service center insists the screen is separate from the MCU2.

I have a quote with 2 entries, $750 screen and $1750 mcu2 totaling $2500.

Im confused as to why I need the screen ($750) + MCU2 ($1750) when I can just do the $1750 upgrade and that will include the screen. Anybody know why ?
