Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Haven’t noticed this myself. But just stopped paying for Premium Connectivity. @waddler have you had any problems?

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Update, I also had the RCM replaced. Problem was fixed immediately. Couple days later and the car is still sleeping correctly and the battery drain is gone. I’d suggest for anyone trying to get an appointment is once you get talking to virtual service in the chat provide hard evidence from the...

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

Have you driven it yet? A high voltage reset or software update fixes it briefly but the battery drain issue returns immediately after driving it once. See this post:

You have to be persistent, keep showing evidence like screenshots of the vehicle standby energy use. The virtual service team will push back a lot and say it’s normal. You need to keep insisting it’s not. After 3-4 days of the car not sleeping cruise, park assist and a few other features will...

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

Narrowing down to a hardware problem. Some more details in these threads: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/extreme-battery-loss-on-model-3-%CB%9C10-per-day-since-2023-20-4-1-contacted-service-and-told-this-is-normal-more-info-below.306242/...

2023.20.4.1 is where it went all wrong for me too. Autopilot, cruise, park assist all fail after about 3-4 days of the car not sleeping. I don’t think .7 fixed this, there’s just been a lot of updates recently and your hack to sleep the car means it’s not been awake all that long. That’s...

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

Good thinking, but I don’t use the Easy-Entry feature. To test, I did enable it, and turned off sentry, preconditioning, and cabin overheat protection (it’s now off on the two driver profiles and Easy-Entry). Car still didn’t sleep. I’ve since disabled Easy-Entry on both driver profiles and...

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

Factory reset didn’t work for me either. Hopefully more reports of this getting to Tesla techs will mean eventually one of us getting a real answer and maybe a real fix. Another thread on Reddit with exact same issue that is popular.

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Update: I installed 2023.20.9 on Saturday night. Like all software updates, the car initially slept. I even charged it and when it hit the target it went to sleep. In the morning I loaded up the car, again left it and the car fell asleep again. Very important to stress to the SC if you get an...

Lots of threads here and on Reddit too. If there was thousands of people with the same issue, it must have started costing Tesla some real money with the amount of SC appointments and support time. Makes me think if 2023.20.9 really does fix it maybe that’s why it is being rolled out rapidly...

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

Have you driven it since updating? For me, after each software update the car would initially sleep. But after the first drive it would revert to battery drain. You can check if it’s sleeping this way btw:

I’ve noticed that as well, that after each update the cruise control etc starts working again. But after a few days of the car not sleeping it stops working again. Same report in this thread: At this point can it get worse with 2023.20.9 @lunaj23? In that same thread I linked to there’s...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Thanks for the update @TheWeb1000 I really hope it’s fixed for you. A mobile tech did both for me and the car slept until it was driven once. When I dropped off at the SC I let the tech know to drive it after any fix to confirm. You should know pretty quickly. I learned you can tell the car...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Some progress it seems. I dropped my car off at a service center yesterday. Got to speak directly to the tech, he was so helpful and understanding. Came out to the car to discuss the battery drain issue and the parking assist not working. I mention the “restraint control module” fix that...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

I installed 2023.20.8 yesterday. Initially, just like the other updates, the car slept right after the update was installed. But just like before after the first drive it’s back to staying awake and draining the battery. Lost 7% again overnight.
