I created my own precharge problem in this case. While servicing the pack, I capped and stowed a lug that goes to the B- terminal and forgot to reconnect this after sheet reinstallation. Ideal fix!

I believe (with limited knowledge of the precharge circuit) if it were to fail open, then the system should never reach precharge voltage (opposite of it reaching precharge too fast).

@thefortunes - thanks for the reply. I did check that FET with continuity and didn't find any pins shorted to any other pins in doing so.

Yes agree with Steve, there are definitely four unique wheels for 1.5 & 2.0s (as well as 2.5s). The photos @drewski linked to could be from a car that only got one direction of spokes on both left and right sides. Every 1.5/2.0 that I've seen with forged wheels has had them all pointing forwards...

Very cool, will be watching. Question - have your wheels always been in that orientation (spokes pointing forward)? I have VIN 965 and my wheels have been that way for the life of the vehicle, but every other 2.5 that I see has the spokes pointed backward. I always thought I was the only one!

I'm on H2O as well, works well. Does use ATT's APNs though, so hopefully won't be affected as well in Dec.

I didn't thoroughly pursue a rebuild with Bilstein as I would have had to remove my front struts and have my car up on blocks for some period of time. I eventually went in for service and had Tesla replace the front struts at my expense. How many miles are you at when symptoms occurred?

Yeah...the downtime is the biggest antagonist to trying to handle this myself. Tesla has the parts in stock but we are talking about $1300 per shock plus labor. And I'd probably want to replace the fronts as a pair, and there's no guarantee the same thing won't happen to the rears. Hopefully...
