    Anyone have these floor mats?

There's a lot of options for Model Y floormats. I got ones off Amazon by HEA. They're quite a bit less expensive, feel close in quality to the 3D ones (I have 3DMaxSpider for a different car), and also don't have any logos on them (a personal peeve of mine).

How Do You Open Your Door?

I'm not sure when it started happening for me, but lately I've found that I've been just pushing the handle with my thumb to pop the door open, and then grabbing the edge of the door with my hand. It's not exactly faster, but it's what has been working well for me. I think it lets me open the...

    Charging my laptop

I wonder if it isn't the voltage being incompatible with the inverter. Even if the inverter is rated for 400w, it's unlikely the laptop charger actually uses that much. You can look at the label to see the maximum current or power draw.

    Sudden Battery drain

I've noticed similar behavior when the car is around 60-65 percent state of charge, and I think a few others here have similar experiences. As best as I can tell, it's a BMS thing. Your car didn't lose any energy and you'll gain it back around 50 percent or so (you'll actually see the percent...

    Temperature Garage

I can't see any circumstances where heating the garage solely for the car makes any sense. It's always going to be most cost effective to keep your car cold and warm it up as needed. I believe that both turning on the climate control through the app and keeping a door open will cause the car to...

New J1772 Wall Connector Installed, may have made the wrong decision

A good gesture, but way too late. If only they did this 5 years ago, I think everyone would likely be using the Tesla connector now. There's too much momentum behind CCS now to change direction.

New J1772 Wall Connector Installed, may have made the wrong decision

I've noticed that if the car is asleep because it has finished charging for a while, then pressing the 1772 button to release can be delayed by a number of seconds as the car wakes up. I can avoid this by opening the car door before going to unplug.

New J1772 Wall Connector Installed, may have made the wrong decision

I got the Grizzle E charger when it was cheaper than the Tesla one (today the Tesla one is the best deal). I have been very happy with the choice. I got an extra adapter so I leave it in the charger. Grizzle E actually gave me the choice of a Tesla or 1772 holster. You can buy one from them too...

CCS - buy now or wait?

On Reddit, I read a post asking folks to be careful about the current rating for third party adapters. Some might only be rated for 300A, which may be dangerous to plug into 350kw chargers (the adapter can't let either the car or charger know the limit). The official Tesla one is rated for 500A...

Different Sentry Drain Based on Starting SoC

I've noticed that if I leave my car at around 60-65% charge, after a few hours it will often drop 3% or more. This is when parked in my garage with sentry mode and everything off. I think the issue is that the bms has some problems at this range. I've also found that I gain back this lost charge...

Tesla Lost Over 20% Charge Parked for Three Days

Cabin overheat shuts itself off after 12 hours, so over the course of several days it doesn't contribute that much. Sentry mode, on the other hand, will stay on and like others have said, it draws 200w+. The bottom line is that Tesla's processors and sensors aren't really designed for use as a...

    MYLR2021/ 27kMiles/ Battery Degrading already?

A reasonable rule of thumb for the Model Y is that you get the rated range at around 50 mph. Every 10 mph above reduces range by 30 miles. (Conversely, every 10 mph below gains you 30 miles, up to a maximum around 30 mph -- you'll be able to hit 400+ miles if you drive a constant 30). The...

I dare any California person to buy a Mazda-MX30!

As far as I know, they have sold all the ones they were going to build this year (500). It's not surprising since it's clearly a compliance car, and there's likely enough people buying it for the novelty to sell it out. I actually saw one charging at the Stanford Shopping Center, and had to laugh.

M3LR Owner Rivian R1T Rental Experience

The final stop sounded like you had a major hardware issue. Did the limited power error ever go away? It sounds like the turtle mode that occasionally happens for Tesla, but it happening on a fairly new truck is pretty worrying.

Who is paying for the anti-BEV barrage on facebook?

What kinds of posts are these? I could use a good laugh.
