Poor Sparky, but I'm glad that even being around 6 feet from the burning car for about an hour, the Model S held up to the extreme heat. The battery didn't explode and it is totally drivable. Kudos to Tesla!
It's definitely my car. Looking at the news video it mentions floor 7, northwest side and that's where my car was parked. I'm nearly 2000 miles away from it. Not sure what to do now. Crap!

Remote access still works. I vented the roof and closed. 177 miles rated. Spoke to...
Took Sparky to the Houston Service Center for the first time this weekend for some tweaks:
1. Creaking Pano
2. Chrome plate on the UMC (due bill item but got a new one instead)

Got my plates yesterday. When I got to the tax office there was a long line that snaked back and forth and then out the door and down the corridor. I reluctantly joined the back of the queue/line. Two minutes later I was joined at the back by another Tesla owner, Jason. What a coincidence. Maybe...
Left my car at the airport for 3.5 days (87 hours to be precise) and the rated miles went from 197 to 153: a loss of 44 miles in a covered parking structure in temp 73 during the day and 50 at night. Need sleep mode back.
Just another datapoint: my car is parked at the airport. The temperature is ranging from 50 at night to approx 73 during the day. It is in a covered parking structure. In the last 24 hours since I left it there it has gone from 197 to 184 rated miles. So approx 13 miles lost. I'll be picking...
I have one of the newer ones. So I don't use the remote at all? I press the learn button on the opener when the car is on the "searching" screen?

Success with the HomeLink! My car is now perfect. Thanks.
This might not be the same issue but how can I turn everything off except the radio? I take the family to the local drive-in movie theater and want to keep the radio on to get the movie sound but everything else off to save the battery. They are double-features and my previous ICE car and my...
Wait is finally over; I have my Model S and it's perfect. I went through the delivery checklist and it was all there. Just waiting on the chrome plate on the UMC and the parcel shelf. Drove the 150 miles home from Austin with the Tesla grin on my face.
On the way to Austin we say a car...
