Anyone in DFW TX with a 3 LR with Acceleration Boost?

Following on this thread. I got my 22 LR and bought the acceleration boost this past weekend. It's noticeably faster but nowhere near what a Performance feels like especially from 0-40. It feels like off the line there are no gains and it actually starts to accelerate faster than w/o AB from...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I bought some OZ ultraleggeras 18x9 +35 for my 22 LR and they are still a bit sunken in to the wheel well especially the rear. I did reuse the factory 235 Michelin MxM4 tire. Thoughts on what spacer to use to get the wheels a bit more flush?

Michelin MXM4 tires out of stock everywhere

Local Tesla service center should have them. I got a nail in a 900 mile old tire and local Plano service center sold me one, 308 bucks out the door, ouch.

    Horse power confusion

HP matters too, theres' a reason why diesel trucks that make 400 hp and 1,200 tq aren't that fast.

    Horse power confusion

The power band isn't quite as immediate but a lot of modern ICE cars are moving to turbos with very broad torque bands. My turbo BMW M cars are making peak torque from about 2,500 to 6K.

Going to order a new Model 3 performance. Should I consider the long range AWD?

I've always ordered the performance version of cars and tracked a lot of cars I've owned (BMW M3, GT-R, GT3) but for the Model 3, I didn't think the Performance was worth the 8K. I hate the look and weight of the 20" uber turbines, the performance brakes still aren't good enough for track (have...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

I had an electrician install my 14-50. He used a Bryant 14-50 with 6AWG copper on a short 2-3 foot run just below my panel with a 50 amp breaker. I’ve been using a gen 2 mobile charger at 32 amps and 240ish volts for a few days no issues. I bought a used gen 1 mobile charger mostly as a...

Sold Gen 1 40AMP mobile charger

So I bought this charger. Just realizing my setup may bit be sufficient to run it at 40A? I have a NEMA 14-50 on a 50A breaker with 6AWG copper just below my breaker box. I think technically you can go up to 80% of the breakers amperage so 50A should be able to do 40A but is 6 AWG sufficient?

Long Range AWD Wheel Offset with Wider Wheels

We have a BMW M2 Competition and 911 GT3 with manual transmissions for fun driving. The model 3 is strictly a commuter car. Range, smooth ride, and lower tire noise are important. For the replacement set of tires we'll probably switch to something like a PS4S or Conti Extreme Contact Sport in...

Long Range AWD Wheel Offset with Wider Wheels

Car is my wife's dd, she doesn't drive that fast on the road. 235 is within the acceptable range for 7-9" wide wheels. I can't imagine used factory tires are worth anything.
