    1.5 Blaupunkt Blowing Fuse

Short answer is no, but I didn't try too hard. When I replaced the aftermarket head unit installed by the prior owner, I could see that a lot of the factory wiring had been bypassed (and in some places cut). I'm not even sure the factory amp/sub was still connected. I'd still like to pull the...

    Open Vehicle Monitoring System

Very exciting news as I have to drive about 30 miles to get a 2G T-Mobile signal. Thank you very much for your continued efforts on this!

ESS Cool Down Procedure *WITHOUT* Using OVMS

I ultimately framed in a bay of my garage, insulated, and added a window unit. Probably not the greenest solution, but not quite ready to move north.

Replacing Stereo on 2.0 Single Din

I have the prior Pioneer single DIN popup. Been happy with it except that it does not support Android Auto/Carplay :)

    OVMS Installation

Has anyone had success updating their OVMS firmware using a PICKit 3.5 and the MPLAB X IDE v3.61 ( MPLAB- X IDE | Microchip Technology Inc. )? I was working on a writeup yesterday for a Windows 10 machine, but there were a few power warnings that I wasn't comfortable with and I wasn't sure the...

    OVMS Installation

I think the latest versions (production & experimental) are available from here: Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System/vehicle/firmware at master · openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System · GitHub I downloaded V2_TR_Production_SIM908.hex by clicking that link and then using the Raw download.

    Open Vehicle Monitoring System

I appear to be stuck at the same point with the Hologram SIM installed, 6 green blinks, and no response to "GPRS hologram" from my previous linked phone or from the Hologram web interface. I was fighting to get PICKit 2 programmer going on a Windows 10 machine to flash the OVMS, but it sounds...

Understanding People Who Don't Drive Their Roadsters

I'm the second owner of #278. I have a few cars (Roadster is the nicest one) and I have them all with Condon & Skelly. My policy does have a mileage limit, but in Louisiana, the weather is probably the limiting factor and most roads are generally crappy so I'm a little picky about when/where I...

    Replacing the Blaupunkt unit

Here's a few pics of the Pioneer AVHX7700BT. In the first pic, the screen was moving. Photo really doesn't do the close tolerance justice. Also, please ignore that my OVMS fell down in the background.

    Replacing the Blaupunkt unit

Have only had a little time to play with it, but I generally like it. Definitely single-DIN with flip up screen. There are a few flip down screen units out there which would have been much better for the A/C, but nothing very current and no big names. I'd say the clearance to the wiper arm is...

    Replacing the Blaupunkt unit

Recently replaced an old Kenwood aftermarket unit in my 2008 with a Pioneer AVHX7700BT (single DIN with popup screen): Amazon.com : Pioneer AVHX7700BT 7-Inch FLIPOUT/BT/DVD/USB/AUX/NAV R : Car Electronics Popup screen just barely clears the wiper control arm, but it does. Has an option to...

    Dash Removal

Will do. Found a few spots where the plastic tabs on the console panels that screw into the dash were cracked or broken. Clamping/gluing to repair and then reinforcing by gluing a thin metal washer to the damaged area.
