    Texas heat

It doesn't get that hot here in BC Canada. But I did Xpel 70% ceramic tint on front glass and windshield. No difference for the driver day or night... (See pic) But.. a huge difference in heat rejection. Cabin stays way cooler and even driving in direct sun - the sizzling heat is cut out. Super...

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Luckily here in Vancouver it never gets to hot. Plus I can't fathom the micro mesh would alter airflow that negatively. Certainly not as much as the fins filled with gunk and wet leaf mess. Maybe in Cali or hot climates I'd have a different opinion. But then they probably deal with less muck...

Tinting front side windows only -- est. cost?

Just did mine here in Western Canada and with the windshield was only ~$500. Removal is super easy, I've done it on alot of cars since I was a kid. Just rip the plastic tint off, the glue will remain on the glass (sometimes some glue might come with the tint, heat gun can sometimes help keep the...

    Charging Error Alerts

I was also getting some strange errors for awhile when charging. Starting and stopping and restarting, not always charged fully for preconditioning time. Turned out I turned off the SSID wifi connection on my router that I had the wall charger connected to. Turned it back on in my routers app...

    DIY Eye Lids

I saw some posts here with eye brow/lid on the MY lights and thought it looked pretty slick. I was shocked to see how much retailers wanted for them. So I bought some automotive vinyl for 5 Bux and made my own. Took about 20 mins to do. I think it looks really slick. Hopefully they last and wear...

anyone try other manufacturers wheels on their MYP?

Do some searches on the forum. There are a ton of people running different sizes of rims, offsets, tires etc. Biggest thing I can say as a newbie to Tesla myself - weight! It's not like the old days where you can just pick up some used rims and throw them on. The Tesla's are heavy, so its a...

    I am debating selling/trading a Ford F150 for a Model Y. Am I missing anything?

Great choice! Love that they actually fit 4'x8' sheets without straps or sticking out of the bed. Not to mention the zillion other features. Yeah, it's gunna be rad.

    I am debating selling/trading a Ford F150 for a Model Y. Am I missing anything?

I'd agree with ewoodrick. I got rid of a Honda Element for a MY-LR 7 seater with hitch. Does everything and more. Just rent a trailer for randomness that doesn't fit. I love it. The Model Y is great, by far the most fun vehicle I've ever owned. Handles all weather, fits the kids and there...

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Yeah it's law here, so had to modify the insert for it. I'd rather that then having holes in the bumper. I guess double sided taping it to the bumper may work. Anyway, anything to avoid being pulled over for a ticket. Pretty easy mod.

    handle

Ah gotcha. Good point, I didn't even notice there the lack of oh crap handles in the Tesla's. Ya that would need some proper customising by professionals if it's even feasible.

Is it necessary to order Front Grill Mesh prevent Inserts?

Reviving this old thread. Just installed this as we get alot of rain/leaves/muck. Plus I've eatin huge rocks in older cars and needed new AC and radiators due to rocks. Had to modify it for the screwless front license plate. Pretty easy to modify, glue gun to help secure mesh, scissors and...

    Heavy load options

Coil overs could be a good idea. Adjust up when working with heavy loads. Adjust back down when and if no big loads are needed for awhile. Takes some time, expect 20 mins a corner by the time you jack, adjust, measure - then repeat for each corner (I'd mark the coil over so you know your high &...
