    Link ABRP to Tesla map

What does abrp do that you can't just do on the tesla nav? I input the same trip on both and get the same charging stops with the same battery % at each stop etc.

Anyone received the TCEQ $2500 Grant Money for buying an EV in Texas?

I'm waiting for them to send me the contract. This takes so long. I've been approved by two reviewers over a month ago. I'm about to go on the road for a couple of weeks. When they send the contract, do I have to print/scan sign it, or can I just agree to it by returning email? I won't have...

Towed boat from RI to FL & Back

Just curious, have you driven the car without towing but with that cargo carrier on top? My experience with rooftop carriers is that they hurt efficiency as much or more than a lightweight trailer.

Tax credit 2024 [The tax credit discussion thread]

And, yet, Ford and Chevy issued Form 15400 at point of sale like required by the IRS and Tesla did not.

Tax credit 2024 [The tax credit discussion thread]

You don't need the Form to file your taxes. However, if Tesla did not report your purchase to the IRS that's a different issue. Probably the easiest way to find out is to go ahead and file and claim the credit. The IRS will let you know if they reject it.

    Car wash?

It will last longer if you use a carwash solution to wash it with. I've used Mequiar's and others which do well. Dawn and soaps of that sort will remove wax pretty quickly.

    Car wash?

Seriously? I've never heard of a car factory which waxed vehicles. I've had dealers use a wash and wax solution for make-ready on new cars, but it's good for a few weeks at most.

    Auto park/summon

I was struggling with it also. You have to drive under 8 mph and don't touch the brake. It helps to drive closer to one or the other. You can't drive down the middle of a wide aisle. Most importantly, it only parks parallel or perpendicular, no angle parking. Here's a helpful video.

    Auto Wipers

But, they can't do that because their research and development team is you and me. Instead of testing something in house before installing it, they install it and then let us test it for weeks, months, years.

    Auto Wipers

I agree that the Tesla has failed us "older drivers" in many ways in the tech department. My point was, we not only "embraced the technology" but we bought the Tesla for that exact purpose.

    Auto Wipers

Talk about stereotyping. Why would an "older driver", or anyone else for that matter, buy a Tesla with it's inflated price if they didn't "embrace technology"? I'm 75 and the only reason I bought a Model Y was for the technology. For $30,000 I could have bought any number of vehicles which...

    Auto Wipers

Therein lies the problem. In order to "get the software right", Tesla prefers to put it out there for their test group (Tesla owners) guinea pigs to develop. That's Tesla's whole approach on everything, throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks. A perfect example of that is FSD...

Software update 2023.44.30.8 hung up - Service Center trip required??

You have to enter "Service Mode" to do that. I don't recommend that. Just call Tesla and let them fix the issue. By now, they should all know what to do.

My Experience Taking my Model Y down to 0%

Thanks. I understand the purpose of it. But, no reasonable person would slam on the brakes in traffic because someone crosses 300' ahead at an intersection. I've just been lucky that someone hasn't crashed into my rear. Also, between home and the nearest city on a limited access freeway...

My Experience Taking my Model Y down to 0%

I'm on 2024.2.7 and my wipers still come on when it's sunny and clear. They still sometimes don't come on when it's raining. I'm glad that your's are working properly. Don't judge others' experiences by your own. For what it's worth, on TACC my car still slams on the brakes when a vehicle...
