Model Y RWD is now long range (May 3) in the US

I wouldn't expect AWD to even out tire wear a lot unless you jackrabbit off of every green light. Looking at the individual motor power numbers via the S3XY buttons dashboard app, my MY LR AWD seems to act as a rear-wheel drive car most of the time. Most of the time the front motor isn't putting...

Elon Musk Discussion - Tesla Brand Damage

Only anecdotal, but I have one friend who absolutely will not consider buying a Tesla and his only reason is he doesn't want to give Musk any money. I have another friend who may buy one, but is hesitating for the same reason. I don't know anyone who is ruling out any other car company due to...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Just sent you a support message via the app... I had my connection drop during a drive yesterday. Failed to log the rest of the drive and multiple charge sessions. I only noticed because my Hubitat integration was complaining about the connection being down overnight. I just signed back in and...

Do you normally use "CHILL" mode or "NORMAL" mode with your model Y?

Chill for smoother one pedal driving which keeps passengers happy. S3XY buttons kickdown mode, plus a button behind the steering wheel to manually switch modes so normal mode is available when needed.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Since the goal is to keep the car awake, do you have any information on how much more energy is used by sentry mode when the car is already awake? I would expect that it either makes zero difference or that it doesn't make a big enough difference to worry about.

How to set autopilot to current speed limit with no stalks?

On a Model Y, Just hold down the right stalk for about 1 second while autopilot is active. From the manual: Changing the Set Speed Roll the right scroll wheel up to increase, or down to decrease, the set speed. You can also change the cruising speed to the current speed limit (including any...

    Auto Wipers

Auto wipers have never been great, but since the last update I've had at least one or more dry-windshield wipes on almost every drive. It used to be that this would happen only when the car was facing into the sun, but now it seems to happen in all sorts of lighting conditions. This is happening...

    Cybertruck Range Edmunds Test

I'm just being pedantic, but EVs get their best range at constant lower speeds, not in stop and go traffic. Recapturing energy through regen is less efficient than simply going a constant speed, so stop and go doesn't increase the range of the EV. Air resistance goes up as a square function...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I also had really high battery drain when the app is running , but I was able to force kill it and it didn't restart on my watch. I just keep it installed in the background in case I need it. My watch is a TicWatch Pro 3 GPS running Wear OS 3.

    TeslaMate [megathread]

I also went with Tessie, although I intend to keep Teslamate running too for as long as that remains an option.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Sorry, I never had v1. I just bought the v2 buttons with v2 commander. Hopefully someone else can answer your question.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Installed the V2 buttons today and already had two weird occurrences. I set one of the buttons to control the wipers. Single press .5 faster, double press .5 slower, and long press toggle off. While I was trying button the car kept saving dash cam footage as if I was pressing the dash cam...

    1up USA Bike Rack

It's not 'offered with' the Model 3, but it isn't that hard to install the aftermarket receiver. After buying our Model Y and realizing how nice a hitch rack was when compared to the roof rack I had been using on my model 3, I installed the Stealth Hitch receiver on my Model 3. The ground...

    Single Tap is Great!

Same as a few others, I tried this for 5 minutes and went back to double pull. I don't like that it disables TACC when changing lanes. I found it hard to take over from TACC without a slight acceleration or deceleration that is annoying to passengers.
