Oh well, one can always hope. It will be nice to get this "did they get the loan or didn't they" episode behind us.

As far as I know that loan would be to build a Model S plant, not to make Roadsters...

True. But the loan is critical to ensuring the viability of the company short term. If they get the loan, I will be confident the company will survive another couple years at the very least.

I think the money to them is a done deal. Some of the 1 trillion has to go to Tesla. I have been working on the Volt for 2 years, and I decided to order the Model S today. A bet but I think a reasonable risk with the deposit policy.

Also, when the inflation hits you want tangible assets. :)
