Great Post. I would vote for the higher contrast ratio in the round shape -right after after the installation of a headsup display.

That was surprising.
My only experience with a HUD (a rental car in AU) was very positive. I can see the idea of a customizable display (position, size, color, brightness) would be an extreme advantage and I hope they can do it but I'd be fine with whatever..

I've never tried one but i think we can expect to see more of them.

I have OLED on an MP3 player and a TiVo. Both become impossible to read when hit by sunlight. Perhaps LCD is still a better technology for an outdoor (or dashboard) display?

Inverse, back-lit LCD like in the 911 would be my suggestion. Viewable in all lighting, with polarized sunglasses, and without that Atari dashboard feel of EFL displays.
