So, if all goes according to the target ramp up, the Model S will be the # selling EV (including PHEVs, BEVs) on a monthly basis beginning as soon as November or December, as the Vole (current #1) is selling about 2000 units per month. That'll be an interesting accomplishment only 5 months out of the gate.

I was told in a store opening that Tesla has done their own ratings, according to NHTSA's specifications, but until NHTSA buys their own vehicles and does their own testing, there's no official rating from NHTSA.

But liked that in an announcement it was stated that they broke the crusher in the crush test.

That could still maybe happen. I'm probably going to guess early November for you but it all depends on how fast the rampup is.

I bet DM363's paperwork said an earlier date too. The paperwork was a first estimate. My original estimate was August 15th. Now it is October.
However, it also sounds like the rampup, as described in George's blog entry today, will be very fast. Just a slower start to get some issues taken care of up front. So I could definitely see them making 1000 cars in the month of October. So in your case, it could very well work out.
If you get within 20-30 days and don't hear anything, give them a call.

I was originally told September/October, paperwork says October. I was shooting for my birthday (Oct. 15), so I e-mailed my configuration specialist, asking how close we'll be to that -- I was told late October/early November now, but he said it depends on how the ramp-up goes.

I'm not quite sure how any of you are getting date estimates. When I e-mailed two different people I know at Tesla, I got the same stock answer.

"As you know, we are currently focussed completely on quality, checking, double checking and triple checking each car prior to delivery. Your delivery specialist will reach out to you when your delivery is approximately 30 days out at which time you can make all of your travelarrangements."

Yeah my rep told me October, but then the site told me November the same day. I asked the rep again and he said to go by the site.
