Well guys in somewhat of a twist of irony, the City of Bradenton has decided to no longer sustain its sustainability program. My position was largely grant-based and given the fact that many federal grant programs are winding down, the City thought that sustainability should follow suit and go the way of the dodo. Politics and bureaucracy aside, its a shame that Bradenton's administration did not see energy efficiency and conservation as a priority for the new fiscal year (though I trust that will change in time). Yet as the saying goes, when one door closes another door opens, and I'm happy to report that idiom is playing out in my case. On Friday, I accepted a position with Tesla Motors as a Delivery Experience Specialist for Florida. Beginning July 2nd, the company will be flying me out to CA for 6 - 8 weeks of training before sending me back to FL where I'll be based out of the Dania Beach location. Who knows, one day I just might be showing up in your driveway with a brand new Model S in tow. I'm definitely looking forward to the opportunity and hope that one way or another, we can all stay in touch. Of course if there's any way I can be of service to you in my new role, please don't hesitate to ask.

Every cloud has a silver lining! Congrats on your move to Tesla Ben, you're the second forum member I know of to go work for Tesla.

Stay in touch.....

Thanks Nigel! Just out of curiosity, who is the other forum member that went to work for Tesla? Are they in Dania Beach/Miami?

We are due for a test drive the end of July in Miami. Doesn't sound like you will be there then, but keep in touch with what's up with that store. Enjoy CA.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Yeah, I doubt I'll be back in FL until sometime in mid to late August but I'm sure I'll be hitting the road with Model S' sometime shortly thereafter. I'll be sure to keep in touch.

Congratulations To Ben and to Tesla! They have both chosen well. Looking forward to seeing Ben and my new Model S in the near future. Sounds like a really fun job :). Hopefully the city of Bradenton will reconsider their priorities in the near future.

Hi Ben,

You and Tesla look like a good match-up.

Too bad you're not going to California until next month. Mary Ellen and I are headed out to the factory this weekend.

Ben,
Congratulations! See if you can convince the Fremont folks to send you to Florida for the 3 day test drive event towards the end of July. Tell them you need to bond with your Florida customers. Who knows, you might end up back in the Tampa area (later this year) at the new Tesla Service Center. It was great meeting you at the Model S event in Sarasota, and I look forward to seeing you again when we take delivery of our Model S this Fall.

Congrats Ben. Haven't met you yet, but looking forward to seeing you bring my new S to it's new home. From my experiences and discussions with the folks in Dania, Tesla seems to be a great company and environment to work in.

Ben is Back!

Who knows, one day I just might be showing up in your driveway with a brand new Model S in tow.

Well, in the last two days Ben has delivered a Model S to two of our club members.
