Range after 15K Miles

I hope that this isn't a redundant question, but I am a new owner and trying to determine if what I am experiencing is to be expected or if there is an issue.

When I charge, it turns off (stating 'fully charged') at 185 miles. This is in Standard Mode.

Is this to be expected on a battery (that has been well cared for) with only 15,000 miles on it?

Any direction you can give would be appreciated.

Good numbers compared to mine. I recently hit 10.000 miles and the ideal range in standard is never above 182 miles.

Curious when everyone is taking their charge numbers from? When the charge has just stopped or when the battery has settled down at 15, 30, or 60 mins? Note the battery will settle down to a lower number once it has equalized the voltage in the battery.

At 41,500 miles my standard mode charge settles to 167 miles.

I have 16k miles at standard mode settles to 186. Although I left it plugged in Standard Mode for a week when I was out of town and this morning it was at 180. Assume it'll go back up after a run to work and back.

At 21,500 my #189 settles at 166 miles down about 10 miles since last Fall.

At 22,000 my #404 charges to 175 miles in standard mode. Have filled it up to range mode maybe 6-8 times in 3 years

Your pack probably isn't balanced. Do a Range mode charge, let it sit a couple of hours, then take it out for a spin to drop it back down from 100% charge. See if that improves your standard charge range.

Doug, would standard mode also equalize them? I read from a tesla tech email on this forum to do 3 standard mode charges and let it sit to equalize for some time on each charge. Now the battery "gas gauge" (what each battery has) typically need to be recalibrate once in a while. For that at least a 95% charge and then discharge down to 5% recalibrates it. That is for consumer electronics with the LIPO packs, I would believe it also applies here so your range mode charge does make sense. And yes when the battery equalizes/gas gauge is recalibrate you can get more miles and an accurate reading of charge/discharge state.

Yes, standard mode charging will slowly balance the pack - it can take a couple of weeks. Range mode apparently does more balancing than standard mode. Never beeen explained why or how, but from observation it does appear to be true.
