1.5 million EV charging stations will be installed the US over the next five years. What is still unclear is which EV charging pricing model will ultimately thrive in the EV marketplace.
Topics of discussion will include:
- Which pricing models are being met with resistance from the consumer side?
- Currently, in many states, only a utility may charge by the kilowatt hour. What are some states doing to fix that, and what is the feasibility to change that regulation in the future?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of subscription based models?
- Workplace charging is continuing to roll out by many new site hosts as a way to market sustainability and encourage the driving of EVs. What are the potential tax benefits for companies providing onsite EV charging for employee?
- What are the factors that could potentially discourage EV use and create animosity in the EV community? Is it lack of access? High billing rates?
- Will one technology with one pricing model ultimately dominate the EV market in order for EV driving to gain critical mass in the U.S.?
