I am pretty sure he means the people with a Sig reservation number greater than 1,000. There were people who dropped/downgraded and then wait list people were bumped up to Signature. There should only be 1,000 total in the USA, but some of the numbers are greater than 1,000.

Yes, sorry, Tesla calls it the "wait list" on their site.

Yes, as per the tally, the latest known S is 1,207 so, it might still take another week or two to get through all US Sigs.

Tesla may still knock them off by next week to have a clean slate (of completely configured and locked-down Sigs with a non-refundable $10K to boot) by June 22. They may also be looking at factoring the $10K per Sig into their earnings for Q2.
VIN P 3552 - 60 kWh with Supercharging, Green, Black Roof, Black Leather, Piano Black trim, Tech Package, Active Air Suspension, 19" Wheels.
    Reserved February 2010 (US P 1,620). Delivered January 2013.

Once any deposit becomes non-refundable it can be recognized as revenue, so there's potentially an ulterior motive to process as many as possible before June 30th. OTOH Tesla may not care whether some of these are in Q2 or Q3, the marginal number they squeeze in is not going to make that big a difference, it might be 1 million on the revenue line out of a total 30-something.

Congrats to all. I take the ramp up of configurations to mean that production plans are on schedule....which means my car is getting closer.

Sorry, I'm sure this has been said already, but at what point do you make your final payment? Is that at delivery?

They have been counting reservation cash as revenue:

Think the Tesla Product Specialist that delivers our Model S will have a "Driver Carries No Cash" decal affixed to his/her vehicle?
