Dedicated storage spot for UMC?

Good question; I hope the trunk liner can be lifted up and that there's some well-defined storage underneath for the UMC.

It something that Tesla should make if they already haven't. There used to be a storage place for a spare tire and jack located in cars of the past. Tesla should have a dedicated storage spot for all of its needed accessories.

I agree that this would be nice to have. Ideally it would also be in a spot that is accessible without needing to completely empty the trunk/frunk to get to it.

The trunk. Which is slightly larger than a "storage space".

The trunk liner can be lifted up to reveal some additional space in the trunk, which is perfect for storing the UMC. Saw this in the beta this weekend at Newport Beach.

This space is the foot-well for the rear-facing seats, which is covered by a hatch if you don't get the seats.

Guess I no longer have to look for a toy to keep my kids sitting in the trunk entertained!

The problem with understorage is that you usually have something on top of it. You need the cable every time you charge away from home. I'm for cables at stations. not stored in cars.

My first thought too.

But hey, my car (assuming I get one) has to go into the custom shop anyway. I might as well get some back seat pockets installed. So I may literally do this. :wink:

I figured I'd just put it in the frunk with other stuff I'll use rarely.

The trunk has so much space I've no idea what I'll use the frunk for, but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. :smile:

Unless you spend $250 for the sliding cover, the frunk is the only concealed storage.

My current trunk is basically empty except for trips to the store, so the frunk on the S fits my conception for stuff specific to the vehicle.

And I'm getting the Sig, which comes with the cover anyhow, so no worries there.

The bottom center of the trunk has a recessed space where the UMC can be neatly coiled. The soft top fits nicely in the same space. But like Eric said, unless you are staying overnight at your charging destination and will be unpacking the whole trunk/frunk anyway, it's better to keep the UMC on top so you can get to it quickly when stopping.

I wish we had the European model here in the US. That way it should be easier to get charging stations installed, if they are just a GFCI plug with $10 PWM signal generator. The cords are expensive and a target for vandalism and cpooer theft. Also, it is possible to use a different connector on the vehicle.
