Tesla in Tampa

Several of us have heard/read from/in various sources that Tesla is planning a service center somewhere in SWFL. Looking at the reservations map Tampa or Orlando seem most likely and we'd probably all be happy with Tampa being quite central for most of us. Let your opinion be heard and maybe we can give Will some good feedback to encourage Tesla.....

Tesla at International Plaza, Tampa or Benderson Mall, Sarasota

International Plaza in Tampa is centrally located and would be great for both sales and service. When Benderson Town Center here in Sarasota opens its expanded upscale lifestyle mall at University and I-75 that would make us central between Tampa and Naples. Not too shabby a location either! I agree that International Plaza would be a great choice for a store for the reasons stated above. In addition, it is just next to Tampa International Airport so could be a great place for anyone not in driving distance of a store to fly to for a test drive :). However, it seems that Tesla is "only" planning a service center for this area right now.

South Florida has the store in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area. Seems the Orlando area may be more centrally located. Tampa area would be good also, but putting it further south than Tampa would not be as "centrally located" in Florida - especially since I do not see them putting more than 2 stores in Florida anytime soon.

Hi,

If we make inferences based on the locations displayed on Tesla Jobs listings we may have four Tesla facilities in Florida.

1. A service center where the Dania Beach facility is currently located
2. A new store located at 509 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach
3. A new store at the Millenia mall in Orlando
3. A new service center in Tampa

To reduce Ranger costs my guess is the next facility to be constructed will be the new service center in Tampa.

Talking to Warren today and heard that Tesla now has 2 Technicians based in Tampa even if they don't have a service center yet. (They visited Warren to change his 12v battery).

Did they say where they were being dispatched from?

I'm thinking that when Florida deliveries start in earnest this month for economic and efficiency reasons they are really going to need a service center on both coasts. Even if the Tampa store is not up and running yet they probably could set up a temporary staging location at a warehouse to receive West Coast cars, inspect and detail them before delivering them to customers. It would sure beat traveling back and forth across Alligator Alley.

Nevertheless, I'm hoping the opening of the permanent Tampa service center is imminent. I know one service tech who informs me he's assigned to Tampa, and of course we know that Ben is assigned to Tampa as a Delivery Experience Specialist. So things must be moving along.
