Larry found that Tampa finally appeared as a "Service" location on the Tesla website jobs listing. For all us living in SWFL that's verrrry good news!![]()
Hi,
If we make inferences based on the locations displayed on Tesla Jobs listings we may have four Tesla facilities in Florida.
1. A service center where the Dania Beach facility is currently located
2. A new store located at 509 Lincoln Rd, Miami Beach
3. A new store at the Millenia mall in Orlando
3. A new service center in Tampa
To reduce Ranger costs my guess is the next facility to be constructed will be the new service center in Tampa.

Hmmmm, I sort of assume that a "service center" will also have a store of sorts.....

They starting posting job listings.....
Vehicle Technician - Tampa, FL - Tampa, FL - Tesla Motors | StartUpHire
Service Manager - Tampa, FL - Tampa, FL - Tesla Motors | StartUpHire
Talking to Warren today and heard that Tesla now has 2 Technicians based in Tampa even if they don't have a service center yet. (They visited Warren to change his 12v battery).

Did they say where they were being dispatched from?
I'm thinking that when Florida deliveries start in earnest this month for economic and efficiency reasons they are really going to need a service center on both coasts. Even if the Tampa store is not up and running yet they probably could set up a temporary staging location at a warehouse to receive West Coast cars, inspect and detail them before delivering them to customers. It would sure beat traveling back and forth across Alligator Alley.
Nevertheless, I'm hoping the opening of the permanent Tampa service center is imminent. I know one service tech who informs me he's assigned to Tampa, and of course we know that Ben is assigned to Tampa as a Delivery Experience Specialist. So things must be moving along.

My understanding is that they are based out of home for now. Doesn't really matter to me yet, so I didn't think to ask (and I don't think Warren asked either). Your point about deliveries is a good one but there won't be a ramp up in deliveries until production is in full swing.
