Here's the official word on the door seals:

Unfortunately, you are unable to purchase just the seals - the NVH kit comes with the seals, but you have to purchase the whole kit.

What I purchased is about 1/8 thick. It came in sheets about 18 inches by 3ft. and is quite eash to cut to the right size. I just converted a Miata to an EV and added a Dynamat kit and it reduced road noise 5 DB. At the local Best Buy it is about $89 for 12 sq ft.

Thanks, Best Buy was a surprise. I can check it there. Price seems OK. Wonder is 1/4" would be even better...

Not sure this is a case where thicker is better. I can see issues with the carpet and behind the seats with a thicker Dynamat. Here is a link of what I used. I also added some to a electric Miata and measured a 5 db reduction there as well.

1. anybody get the stage 2 soundproofing kit with door seals for 2.5???
2. anybody thought of a proximity sensor for their roadster ........... front for sure, back optional???

i dropped off my roadster (2.0 with stage 1 soundproofing kit already installed) at menlo park this morning for service including installation of the stage 2 kit.

they mentioned that i was (to be) the first install of the stage 2 kit at the menlo park location.

i'll report back when i pick up the car later this week.

I'd be very interested to, uh, hear the results. I'd really like the door seals, but they won't sell them separately and I'm unsure of the usefulness of the stage 2 kit. Seems to me wind noise is the bigger issue.
