State laws are sooo confusing. Thanks for the info, rsquared . Btw, the Roadster owner who stole your license plate is one of my best friends.

On the other point, hopefully everyone has felt they have had the last word. Right? RIGHT?? You're all totally derailing this thread. Enough already. It was a good solid helpful thread before everyone got snippy & then decided to examine how the derailment happened.

The way this is phrased it's an attack on Tesla decision-making. In subsequent posts, AnOutsider was making the point (I think) that it's apparently fairly standard for the auto industry. When he provided a directly comparable example, the tone of the response was interpreted as dismissive -- which made things worse.

Does that make it a "good thing"? I don't know.
    No. It's a bad thing.
Does that make Tesla "just like the other guys"? Perhaps.
    Yes. In a bad way.
Does this decision imply Tesla doesn't have common sense? Definitely no.
    Sorry -- definitely yes.

It would be different if the Signature package were at a discount to the sum of its parts.

    It's at a premium.

This thread is better than an episode of Housewives. Awesome!

Your original post said Tesla would be out of business without the DOE. There wasn't any qualifier such as "I think" or "maybe" or "I believe", though you've since backed off in your last post and added those. You also disregard the published public opinion on the matter by Elon.

Are you going on record as saying you're more qualified than Elon to assess Tesla's fiscal stability at that time in the company's history?

Between you and the guy that actually runs the company, I'll give the nod on credibility to Elon.

    non sequitur much?

If it did not happen is it a fact? If it never existed how can it be truth. Draw whatever conclusions you want I am finished with you.

I really liked Bonnie's group vs. flexibilty cruve idea. Here is P 8995 who just jumped on the bandwagon last minute complaining about cars being delivered to numbers 1-50. Wait your turn buddy and then legititemaly complain if you don't like what you see then.

That's like saying insurance companies don't dictate medical care; no normal person could afford the expense of todays medical care without insurance. Insurance dictates medical care until you reach someone with very high income or disposable money.

Wealth equates with risk taking and enables one to be an early adopter.

I offer no apology for holding any person or company accountable for their actions-- good or bad. Nothing wrong with being an early adopter and having expectations.

So, I don't accept Bonnie's elitist definition of being an early adopter. Nope.

    Wow, what an elitist post.

FYI, medical care is 1/3 the cost if you pay in cash at the time of service. Insurance dictates nothing(well maybe for the ignorant).

My reservation number is high. That doesn't imply a whole lot.

I beg to differ. My extensive experience tells me otherwise.
