Sorry but what does one gain? Less fogging. More light? Can one install thempselves

There's no advantage if your lights are in good condition, but maybe there's someone out there who needs a replacement for some reason. (They're gonna gather dust in my garage). As for installing yourself, that depends on how "handy" you are.
