I tried to get the guy to come to Geneva on Friday as he would find a wealth of Roadsters there to try his roof with, however he is going to turn up on the 12th and that is that. If anyone is going to be there with Roadster on the 12th and is interested in helping, let me know.

would tesla do testdrives of the roadster in Geneva? Maybe he can try a roof on one of the demo-cars!

I did suggest he try the roof there... but its not a small item to carry around!

He is called Maurizio and the email is info@visium.it if anyone wants to try to meet him (I mailed him that you would be there on the 14th but he hasn't responded). If you write in Italian you may have more success than I.

any update on this clear top? it is still being sold on ebay, ad i think it looks cool, but roadster owners have had a hard enough time getting their official tesla issue hard tops to fit quietly that i'm skeptical about this one. and "we have a two-week return" doesn't inspire me.

also, fwiw, i went to see the guys at sector 111 a few months ago, and their CF hard top may fit, but they said they weren't sure, and the carbon weave is very different from the tesla carbon. their weave is of much smaller pieces. i didn't think that would be a biggie until i saw it in person, but once i did it not an option for me. that said, the guys were very honest and cautious about it. not at all in it to make a $, but rather to do right.

[QUOTE=mgemmell;114119]I have exchanged some emails with the Italian manufacturer Visium.

They have not tried the roof on a Tesla......

Has anybody heard anything else about the clear hardtop. Looks really great and I have some interest but not to buy a bad fit. Please post any new info...... Thanks

Yeah, that's the same person/company, Visium (VISIUM - Intro). There's a justified degree of scepticism as to its fit with the roadster. I wish someone in Italy could drive by his shop and test the roof.

I have suggested to the guy that he drop by the Tesla store in Milan to try it but I guess customer service is not his forte. Of course, there are only a handful of Tesla owners interested and that's maybe not enough to justify his efforts.

I spoke to Maurizio today. He lives close to Rome and for this reason it has been easy for me to contact him. He told that he doesn't know exactly if the VISIUM hard top fits to the Roadster but, in case it didn't fit, he could modify the hard top to fit. Actually Maurizio meant that the car should be brought at his premises (20 mi South of Rome) to make the hard top fit.

    Thanks Raffy.
I have bought the Tesla clear carbon roof in the end as this just didn't seem to be going anywhere. If someone were able to confirm that the roof fits well that would be awesome. It's hard to place an order over the phone without knowing it will fit first.
