Do you have a contact person at Tesla? If so, send them a quick email and they can straighten it out. If not, send me a pm and I'll give you a contact over there.

October 2013 is pretty optimistic. Hope you're right! But I'm #3 and I'd be thrilled if I just got it in 2013.

For my wife, so she won't want to take my S all the time!
Mine will be coming off the line right before you!

I still can't believe that you could convince yourself to give up your Model S res for the X, Bonnie!

I know your resident stock tip specialists - of the canine variety - would appreciate the room in the X more but, this wait for the S has become practically unbearable for me! And, my S is 'only' 4 months away. A year and a half more for your X? Wow! Can I get the number of your Yoga or TM (Transcendental Meditation, that is) instructor?!
VIN P 3552 - 60 kWh with Supercharging, Green, Black Roof, Black Leather, Piano Black trim, Tech Package, Active Air Suspension, 19" Wheels.
    Reserved February 2010 (US P 1,620). Delivered January 2013.

The Roadster helps. I would be flipping out with the waiting now after over 3 years if I didn't have the Roadster to drive every day for the last 18 months. Still very excited. I bet the wait for the Model X will be tough though.

Yep, the Roadster helps. I love that car. I am fine waiting for the X - by the time it's delivered, much will have been learned about the S, features and apps added that will find their way to the X. A supercharger network will be in place. Adapters will be available. I'm slowly remodeling my garage (just at the 'clean out the junk stage' ... new wiring, insulation, drywall, flooring, cabinets yet to come).

I'd be happy with just the Roadster and nothing else, except for the lack of space. So my Prius sits at the ready, for its once weekly drive when one of my dogs spends the day in the office (he's undergoing certification as a therapy dog).

I have EU P 533 for the Model S, and EU P 5 for Model X. My heart tells me "buy both" but my brain says "for now, one EV and one ICE". Also my heart says get the S (performance, with 21", tech pack etc.) but again my brain says wait for the Model X since I have two kids, live in a northern country, maybe better batter tech, and also I'm thinking that once the X comes any important fixes/revisions will have been made (same platform as the S).

So I guess it comes down to:
    - Is there a possibility of EU production Model X delivery within 2013? (might consider upgrade to Sig if tis would help a lot)
    - Will there be a bigger battery than the 85 kW available once the X debuts?
    - How will the RWD Model S handle on ice/snow (we have 4-5 months of that)? Will be very interesting to hear from people in the US and Canada who might test it now i fall/winter - hopefully enough experience gathered on this before I get my finalize your order call. I'm assumingthat the X willbe likely the best AWD car available inthe worldwhen it comes.
    - How much room in the trunk+frunk on the S compared to the X (especially with 3rd row folded or even better taken out)?

Also will be exciting to see EU/Norway pricing on the S as this will set the tone for the X.

Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated!
Greetings from Norway (according to George B one of Tesla's EU strongholds)

(Almost) no chance - Tesla says deliveries of a few units will begin in late 2013 so I don't expect any meaningful number of Model X Deliveries in the States until 2014.

    - Will there be a bigger battery than the 85 kW available once the X debuts?

Tesla has made no mention of this so it would have to be a surprise.

The Roadster is excellent in snow according to the Roadster owners on this forum. The Model S should be better. Tesla has indeed said the Model X will be the best handling AWD production vehicle the world has ever seen.

    - How much room in the trunk+frunk on the S compared to the X (especially with 3rd row folded or even better taken out)?

No detailed specs have been given but Tesla has said Model X has greater interior volume than a Q7. Q7 has 72.5 cubic feet with 2nd and 3rd rows folded. Model X can fit a queen size bed according to Elon. Model S has 58.1 cubic feet in cargo volume with seats folded. The frunk adds about 5.3 cubic feet on the Model S and X.

Also will be exciting to see EU/Norway pricing on the S as this will set the tone for the X.

Elon said on the last earnings call (when he mentioned " we are very big in Norway") that they would not gouge customers in a country just because that country was very EV friendly and offered great incentives, which is very noble and also very shrewd.

Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated!

FWIW I think the Model S is more beautiful but the Model X more thoroughly crushes its competition because of all its amazing features, so I chose my brain over my heart for the reasons you outline. Having 18 months to save up didn't hurt either.

But I definitely think you should get both!

FYI I expect an AWD Model S (0-60 in <= 3.7 seconds) to come to market when the Model X does (2014) or in 2015.

You convinced me to get both! Now I just have to convince the missus. Really hard to justify getting both with the big battery though, as you really only need one car for long distance. But I do want the S performance, and can't bear to wait another year for the X performance, which will never be as beatiful as the S.

And with regards to the Model S with front motor, I have been thinking this too, but what makes you so sure it will be done? And from a customer perspective: won't that make a lot of people who just one year before got the Model S performance kinda mad? I know I would be just a little angry.
