Well the interesting fact is that within Chinese media a safety discussion was sparked. That is great news in itself! Consumers call for their stakes to be taken into respect. In the past, such problems were swiped under the carpet by governmental order. And sure will be in some future events - but times are changing.

German utility giant RWE to end cooperation with BYD, according to a cooperate speaker on Monday, June 11th. As a reason was cited that the BYD car failed to register with European Authorities in 2011 and the cooperation was not followed on thereafter. RWE wants to continue its push into electric mobility with other partners (namely Renault/Nissan) and is expanding its EV charging infrastructure network of currently 1700 charge points in Europe, and its EVSE business. The article speculates that the latest crash of a BYD e6 taxi, killing three occupants, was involved in the decision.
