Yikes! Hope they fix that quick! Obviously it should never be able to lock with key fobs in the car.

Ouch. Clearly the pioneers take most of the arrows. Rod and Barbara paid the cost of unfinished software here (no remote unlock, as well as any issues contributing to the locking itself). I suspect that the Founders and Signature series will find a few more little glitches like this...

I often inadvently lock or unlock my cars with my keys in my pocket. Those fobs have recessed buttons. The S fob is quite the opposite. Is ie saved by a double click?
The world loves to be deceived.
There are plenty of other cars where that could happen. I've had expensive cars that had a timer where the car would lock itself automatically in case I forgot to lock it. In any case, what if Rod & Barbara had wanted to leave one bag with key inside the car and take the other key with them? There are occassions where you want to lock the car with one key inside.

Well my 03 fx beeps like crazy if you try to lock with key inside. Same if someone gets out while engine on. Saved me from driving far away once without a key. I wouldn't personally ever lock a key inside on purpose.
The s can be set to lock doors automatically when you walk away. I wonder what happens if you leave with the key still in it.

This is a good reason for Tesla to get the phone app out ASAP. The problem could have been solved via OVMS or Tattler.
P.S. I am reminded now of the time I tried to put my Roadster in valet mode using OVMS on my phone. I accidentally locked the car instead....with the valet inside! Even though he had the key he couldn't get out, poor guy thought it was his fault. I didn't confess it was my error....![]()

Thanks for the FOB update and acronyms. Perfect - as part of my job I spend a lot of time with this "FOB": Fecal occult blood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
