My calculation suggests 7' ¾"...but take it with a grain of salt as it's a measurement based on scaling the pics from the website which show the doors fully open.

They jump on the work bench ... onto the tops of cabinets ... and from there, onto the rafters.

A certain forum member lives in Malibu. I was suggesting I might drop the cats off .

No, I specifically asked the total height with the doors open. That is what Franz gave as 7 feet. And perhaps NigelM is right and it is closer to 7' 1"; We are splitting hairs at that point, I think!

BTW, I could visually SEE the ride height change by about 1" or so as people got in and out of the car at the event (noticing wheel well gap changing).

So with air suspension you might get it down to 6' 11¾".

It seem these doors literally grow on you...

Is there any difficulty to be expected with 7' or 7'1" ? If not, then falcon doors are a big win.

Ocourse, if the wings can be configured to not open fully, it would work for me.

Like NigelM, I'm measuring about 7' 1". Does that work for you?

    2012 Chevy Traverse - Interior
I have not seen one in person yet, but the upcoming Infiniti JX crossover (http://www.infinitiusa.com/all-new-j...X_Micro.Button) also seems to be addressing the third-row access and size questions:
    http://www.infinitiusa.com/all-new-j...alleled-access
    http://www.infinitiusa.com/all-new-j...accommodations

Although third-row passengers in the JX won't be able to step right in without crouching, Infiniti looks like they're offering fairly decent access and space without the complexity of the falcon doors. They also seem to be offering several other "techy" items and amenities (Blind Spot Intervention System, Infiniti Connection, Above View Monitor, etc.) that aren't absolutely necessary, but that I'd like to see on the Model X to keep it competitive in the market.

[Note: Although it may seem like it from this post, I do not work for Infiniti. I am, however, in the market for an eventual replacement to our Ford Flex - hence the reason for looking at options including the JX and Model X.]

Nice tnawara. I like the simplicity of the Infiniti solution. I had always assumed 2nd row seats could never slide forward enough with a child seat in to give reasonable access to the 3rd row. It looks like the JX solved that one. If I could save some money, I would definitely prefer regular doors that worked like this instead of the falcon wings. However, I would never personally get the JX because of its cruddy mpg. We all have our priorities ...

I can see why Tesla didn't go that route with the X, less access to the second row, and no access to a third row.

Lots of posts regarding the door height/clearance. Here are the 3 measurements I'd like to see Tesla provide.

I've seen lots of posts concerned with garage door opener height. Since the garage door opener (lowest part of the door opening assembly) is either directly in the middle, or off to the side, I don't necessarily see this as the biggest problem. My garage door is 7'9" from the floor, so those having estimated 7'1" and up to 7'6" shouldn't have a concern if those measurements end up to be true.

But, I'd still really like to know measurements A and B for garage door concerns/peace of mind. Those with parking deck concerns would really want to know C.

These may also be moot points if there is an adjustable maximum height that can be set.
