Photos of Model S Beta and Chassis in Menlo Park

Stopped at Menlo Park store a few days ago and saw white Model S Beta on display with chassis section as well. Shows off low center of gravity of battery pack and the small amount of space required for the rear drive motor.

Is it just me or is that rear suspension REALLY high?

Yeah, I just love that skateboard design. It makes me want to strap on a lawn chair and see how fast it is without all that weight on it.

It also shows how wide the car is when you look at the skateboard. That was the first thing my wife commented on when she saw it.

That's the air suspension, fully extended. It won't be nearly that high when it's carrying the weight of the car.

That, or Tesla is going to allow you to go Monster Truck mode with a tap on the screen

I was also told at the DC event that the higher and longer suspension allows for greater control of ride. And that those mount to the car up in the pilars to help with that as well.

    I see a Model S being charged.
Buying an EV is one thing, being able to drive it beyond city limits another...
