There are several threads here with people up in arms about the base pack not supporting quick charging, and I address this to all of them:
I think there's a good chance you're all upset over nothing more than a misunderstanding or poor wording on the options page. Just wait until Tesla clarifies what "not available" means...Don't make any rash decisions or jump to any conclusions.
I think they may just have been implying that you can't get 320 mph charging with the base pack.
If you find out (via channels more official than a Tesla salesperson or a news article) that quick charging's not supported...THEN feel free to get pissed off.
But I think right now everyone's getting prematurely upset over possibly nothing.
