I believe it would be better to loose the chrome trim also which accentuates the opening an difference in color.

I tend to like contrasts, so I'd go silver or white, and get black where I can (nosecone, black or pano roof, and then maybe carbon fiber accents and smoked signal lights).
Yes! I just noticed the photo you are probably talking about from another thread here. That off-white or light grey lettering on a white Model S looks very similar to what I remember seeing. It is quite possibly the same car.

Looks less horrible than I remember. As for the nosecone:
I guess the major differences these days is that the nose cone now seems to be a solid piece, where before it had a bar running through it.
I'd rather see smaller openings
