News story on high voltage crash dangers

It's a valid concern that's easily addressed with training. Frankly, unless the floor of the vehicle needs to be cut there is very little danger. No news story on the dangers of cutting through a fuel line that runs underneath a vehicle of course, or the danger that we all face every day by driving around with gallons of highly explosive gasoline a few feet behind us.

Gasoline _vapor_ is explosive. Liquid gasoline just makes a huge fire.

In other words, cars only explode in movies. If only we were so lucky. In real life, if the occupants can't escape the vehicle, they spend their last moments in agony as they burn to death.
