    We don't know that for a fact, because we haven't seen the bar with the cover off. There might be an opportunity to simply refine the shape of the covering, for instance, or at least cover it in the same material as the headliner, or something other than a smooth plastic. I wouldn't expect anything that would affect structure at this point, for sure.

    +1. That would be ideal for those of us wishing to pass on the sunshade. I too sincerely hope it is an option.

    Agreed, any modifications would have to be purely cosmetic, not structural.

    +1. The bar itself doesn't bother me. Just cover it with headliner material so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

    From my test drive this weekend, I feel the pictures somehow make the bar look more intrusive than reality. IMO

    I can't imagine what definition of "opening" lets them say that. Every one I come up with makes them out to be wrong.
